This was an absolute blow-away dining experience. Wonderful dishes. The chicken bites, meatballs, mushrooms and broccoli were truly standout. Amazing service and a wonderfully cosy atmosphere on a rainy Friday night. We had no idea when booking of the musical connection so it was a real treat to have Ed Sheeran singing Happy Birthday on the speaker - to a truly thrilled 18 year old. Their desserts are divine. Unfortunately had to rush away to a gig but will definitely be back and linger longer over a great drinks list and to savour the full menu. Well Worth the trek up Portobello.

Great food and drinks and even better ambiance in the restaurant! We basically tried every dish on the menu (and had a second round for some of them) and were pleasantly surprised by how well they were all done!

The food was simple yet flavorful and the service and atmosphere were great.

Really friendly staff and a lovely dog-friendly venue. The decoration is charming, and the location couldn’t be better. The only downsides were that the menu had limited options, and even among those, not everything was available at dinner time — which left us with very few choices. That said, for dog owners who enjoy going out for dinner, this is definitely a place to keep in mind and one we’d happily return to.

Thank you for a wonderful evening in a chilled but cool music vibe restaurant. Food was amazing, service was outstanding, everyone was friendly and helpful. It was extremely hot upstairs (weather nothing to do with restaurant) but the staff did everything they could to help cool us down. They opened up the air conditioned room, put a fan on us and gave us loads of ice! We will definitely be coming back again.

Bertie’s is the most welcoming place. It’s beautifully decorated and the food is incredible. Everything there is top with love, and the staff there make you feel at home.

The service when we got there was amazing. Then a few of the wait staff sat in the tables out front and let one poor girl to manage all the tables and it was busy. So the service went downhill.

Great service, average food and drinks. The pasta was under seasoned and simply sweet! Not great. The steak too was average. Poor choice of cut or perhaps I got an odd piece. Even the Brussels sprouts left much to be desired. Under seasoned and ultimately bland. Drinks were all too sweet and again, just not well balanced. I’m local and given the sheer number of great places so close to this, I must say I won’t be returning to this. Disappointed.

Fabulous every single visit. Bertie’s is the best place to have a meal, a great drink and a chat in London.
