Birds & Beer is the brainchild of Alonzo Goulbourne – the mind behind Roots Bar in Hull – and represents the best of those two establishments, while adding in something new to the Beverley dining scene. The focus at Birds & Beer is, well, birds and beer. The birds are chickens, and they can be cooked in almost countless ways: chicken thigh marinated in buttermilk, breaded or grilled chicken wings, Korean twice-fried chicken, batterless wings, grilled chicken breast, chicken burgers or even a full chicken, roasted. The accompaniments include plenty of sauces and sides such as mash, corn, slaw, gravy and waffles, and – of course – lashings of booze. Drinks are ever changing, with local and craft beers, cocktails and top-level spirits. If you’re looking for chicken in Beverley, then look no further than Bird & Beer on Lairgate in the town centre – book a table online today and head on over.
Food and drinks are great along with majority of staff. Good atmosphere was bit quiet when we arrived but soon picked up and got very busy. Good all round
Table for 6 booked after work on friday. Food excellent as always, if everso slightly overcooked. Great ambience and atmosphere. Good service but a little surly at times. I do love this place so only slight criticisms really.
A great atmosphere with excellent bird pie and commendable bird burgers. The avocation salad is delish and quite filling. This was my third visit - looking forward to the next.
