A lovely neighbourhood French restaurant- lots of classics. Good portions and very relaxed atmosphere

The food was good, the waiter was really nice, but he was let down by the kitchen which was VERY slow! The main course took over an hour from ordering, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. this makes us not want to come again! The music was great.

The meal was delicious as it always is but felt very rushed by the waiter. Wasn’t as relaxing as it normally is.

Excellent service. The waiter was very polite and professional. Explained the food and pointed out the specials. The food was absolutely on point and delicious. The atmosphere in the tiny restaurant was great. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a traditional french cuisine.

We had a lovely evening and enjoyed the authenticity, but the service was very slow, despite being quiet. We would give it another go though!

4 of us visited on a Saturday evening. We have all visited France a lot and like French food and drink. We liked the ambiance and the people were friendly. Unfortunately, despite previous reviews we had seen being positive all of our food which had been prepared in-house had significant problems. They were not hot, missing key ingredients or no effort had been made eg in a cassoulet instead of slices of sausage to give and receive flavour there was a whole sausage. Once, a meal was taken away as it was cold; it was brought back almost the same and after being taken away again, we were told it was no longer available when the microwave they have (!) would have done the job. We really hoped this would become a regular, sadly none of us will go again.

I enjoyed the meal very much and the restaurant was very pleasant.

Had a lovely evening at Chez Yves. Hadn’t been for a while. The service was friendly and the food delicious. Will definitely be going back sooner rather than later!

My husband and k went there for dinner cause we were too lazy to cook on a Friday night… The food was good but the restaurant was so noisy. It was like we were in a pub during a football match night…

We had been before when it was the French Restaurant some time back, so we were in the area again and it was really good. service ,food and atmosphere were brilliant. I had wild boar, beautifully presented and tasted really good. Thanks for a lovely evening.

As always great food and friendly staff when you go to Chez Yves They have a sister restaurant at Gypsy hill but prefer this one Lovely beef bourginion and cassoulet followed by creme brulee and apple and cinnamon crepe

It's our local little restaurant for casual celebrations. Very convenient for member of the family.
