Black & Red Bistro Grill

This was our second visit to Black & Red for our works Christmas meal. The food is amazing, the people lovely, and to top it off this year, they had a singer and belly dancer. It was a fab night, we really enjoyed it :-)

It was a really good atmosphere, staff members were very friendly and helpful. Food was really good and delicious and came quite quickly considering it was quite a large table. Will definitely be back.

Was the best as always. It lived up to expectations with new guests. The only slight issue was that the live music was rather loud - which I do understand for everyone being able to hear. She was very talented but being as close as we were, it was hard to have conversations. Such a wonderful place and staff.

This place is absolutely amazing. The food is the best Turkish food iv ever had . Dressing they use for the sald has such an amazing taste. Food was cooked to perfection. Staff so friendly really lively place to go and I'm definitely going back . Wished I'd find it sooner . Go you won't be disappointed.

I booked through quandoo for 7pm. Arrived at black and red and it was fully booked, they hadn't received the booking. Just as i thought the night was ruined, they made a table available. It was a good night. Fantastic meal, good live entertainment. I will book directly next time and not through quandoo.

My meal was fine but my girlfriend got food poisoning, she had the carbonara and a bowl of slop that was supposed to be rice pudding. She vomited and had diorea shortly after we left the restaurant. Also they leave the door wide open in the evening so diners get the cold breeze while eating the food. Overall it was a poor night out.

A very clean and welcoming environment. The staff were friendly and polite, they liked a bit of banter too. The food was excellent and we weren’t rushed. The waiters didn’t hover around, but equally they did make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Great food and very affordable and competitive prices. We would definitely recommend as we were recommended too

Had a great evening meal with two friends last week. The food was excellent, there was plenty of choice, including some dishes I'd not heard of before, and service very attentive and friendly. It was nice to sit outside on a warm evening, and was only spoilt by the usual Southend lowlife ambling past, culminating in a serious fight almost right next to the restaurant 😮

This was the first time we'd ever been to this restaurant, the food, attentive staff and live singer were amazing. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant, we'll definitely be coming back and hopefully soon.

Service was wonderful with several attentive staff. I really enjoyed my chicken dish , flavoursome and delicious. My husband wasn't as impressed with the lamb dish which lacked some flavour apart from this would definitely visit again!
