Great end to our New Year trip. Food was excellent and service to match. Lovely touch at end of night offering complimentary drink. Will definitely teturn.

Had an early booking but we’ll looked after as the restaurant was quiet, food was amazing

Not all that impressed. Very slow service and although the meals tasted ok the portions were quite small.

Started off waiting for our table for 2 at the door with no waiting area. Given the only table in the 'Shop Window' next to the ever opening and closing door where it was constantly cold. Food was okay and average. Bit disappointing.

Waited for nearly one hour for our food and it was given to another table

The meat was extremely poor quality and when another customer became aggressive and confrontational, nothing was done

Food was lovely although mine could have been spicier but had a lovely rich flavour. Waiting staff were great and made a real fuss of our little boy.

Great place to eat. Food is always excellent and tasty. Booking a table is essential as its a very busy place. It can be noisy as can get groups in that can be a bit rowdy but its never bothered us. The complimentary drink after your meal is a nice touch.

Bad ventilation upstairs, waiter wasn't helpful when we ordered. Food was good though.

Our second visit. Delicious food. Good service. Will be back on our next visit to York.

Having booked a couple of weeks in advance it was disappointing to be told on arrival that payment was CASH ONLY. How can a business be cash only? I expect this is some tax dodge. However food was good, although service was rushed and seemed a little abrupt, not rude but not friendly. Would NOT recommend.

Food was reasonably good. Waiting staff seemed to have an issue with us asking to move from being directly under a powerful heater that seemingly resulted in me and my wife not being offered a liquor at the end of our meal, unlike all of those tables around us!! Did not take credit card payments so be aware that cash is required.

The service and quality of food was excellent! We booked a table for 2.30 pm and had a fabulous alternative Sunday lunch
