Nestled among the Village Square Shops right by the waterfront at Brighton Marina is one of the city’s most refined and authentic Italian eateries. An elegant dining venue decorated with pristine table settings, ornate furniture and Italian art pieces, Brasserie Italiano is classy in nature – but at heart it is an authentic and friendly Italian restaurant. Specialising primarily in southern dishes, Brasserie Italiano is a place to taste things how they are supposed to. Their philosophy relies on quality, seasonal ingredients, be they buffalo mozzarella, porcini mushrooms and truffles brought from Italy or – being in Brighton – sensationally fresh seafood. These ingredients are turned into a beautiful range of Italian dishes including vast antipasti selections ideal for enjoying with friends over an evening drink, long lists of fresh pasta in creative combinations, or exquisite main meat dishes that suit a romantic dinner as well as a casual lunch.
Sadly the service ruined an otherwise acceptable meal. I have eaten in lots of restaurants over the years and I have never experienced such slow service. Fortunately for the staff we were not in a rush and they were kind to the children but I would never invite my family to eat there again.
