Brouge - Esher

We visited Bruge (our first) very early in the evening, so it was quiet. There was an offer on the website which, upon arrival, the waitress didn't know about. However, she checked with the manager and confirmed the offer was there (no mention of the offer on the menu though). The staff were friendly and welcoming and when the food arrived it was better than we had expected - it was absolutely delicious. By the time we left, the place was buzzing, so we would definitely visit again but later in the evening to better enjoy the atmosphere.

Excellent, excellent restaurant. Cannot fault it. The service was superb, the food was amazing, timings were great. I really enjoyed my evening here and his is now my favourite restaurant in Esher.

Excellent service and food. I know Belgian Beer very well so a wider range would be appreciated, but what is on offer is very good.

Had seafood platter to start & fish stew for a main. All delicious. With a delicious cherry beer, who could ask for more. Delicious all of it!!

Lovely food, great service, would come again. Great choice of food. Children’s menu there was a lot of choice. Bar side was great as it was Father’s Day and the football was on.

This is a great way place to drink & eat. The staff were excellent,drinks reasonably priced and food top notch. This a truly a venue that I would return to.

Lots of variety on the menu and some great beers on draft, my second visit and the menu was different from the previous which was good to see. Good overall service from the staff, very attentive

A most enjoyable meal which as always was well served and very tasty. We were very pleased with accompanying Malbec. It is about time that Coet de Boef was pack on the menu.

The food was lovely, very tasty dishes and very big portions!. The staff were very attentive and cheery. Great range of Belgium beers from fruit to Trappist, definitely will return!

Really enjoyed our first visit to Brouge. Good food and great range of beers. The waitress had a good knowledge of the range of beers.

Food was possibly the worst I have had in a long time. Service was ok though, hence they didn't get the lowest score, that and apparently the beers were very nice. To be honest, after two out of a party of four of us returned the starter (and another only kept his because he was too hungry to return it) , I couldn'y bring myself to return the main meal as well - but I should have.

Set lunch wonderful value - including classics like moule frittes. Wide range of Belgian beer in bottles plus Palm on draught. Good service, great place.

Between the two of us my wife had Rack of Lamb which was perfectly acceptable. But my Beef in beer stew was very salty and 50% was inedible due to the toughness of the meat.

Great service, atmosphere and food was good too. Think if they are going to highlight moules they should look to do good frites/ Chips were average. Good cocktails too.

Nothing exceptional. Food average. Portions are a good size, but found the ribs we ordered to be too sweet. Mussels were OK, but again, adverage in taste.

Lovely food and staff were great but new menu is very limited, needs more options. My partner struggled to find a main that she would like.

What a great find. Good selection of beers, including the quirky Belgian ones. Very friendly staff. Delicious food, especially the Belgian specialities. We will definitely be going back again soon.

A very friendly and welcoming gastro pub, with a good selection of dishes and attentive service. On this occasion, however, food service was too slow (undoubtedly caused by how busy the restaurant was around 8pm on a Friday). This does not, in my view, necessarily excuse the slow delivery of food - indeed, the kitchen should be well prepared for a busy Friday or Saturday night.

A very good selection of interesting and tasty dishes on the set lunch menu. Everyone enjoyed their food and thought it was excellent value for money. Friendly staff too. I'll go again.

Great food, beer, service and atmosphere. Great menu with lots to choose from. Perfect for a family meal, romantic dinner or casual dining with friends. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely bowl of fresh mussels, great service and a good atmosphere. Think Brouge will be a very welcome addition to Esher - great range of Belgian beers - served in the correct glasses.

Very nice bar/restaurant and the food was excellent. One of us had the special of fish stew and one had the sea bream. Both were well cooked with generous portions of fish. It was also good to be able to order a carafe of wine.

Buzzy atmosphere, very friendly helpful happy staff, excellent service and good quality value for money menu. 3rd time to visit and will be revisiting again and again, have recommended

Good basic meal of moules for my friend and beef stew for me. Had a 1/3 off voucher so made price reasonable. Without this wouldn’t go back as expensive. Drinks very expensive. Ambience OK but preferred restaurant when it was Boccadito

Great evening. Imaginative menu! Loved the Parma ham wrapped goats cheese and figs! Very busy Sat night but service good and food was very good. We will definitely go back.

Excellent Belgian beers, good range of food (although we stuck to the extensive range of mussels dishes). Great service and it’s not expensive. What’s not to love?

Excellent food and service at very competitive prices. Generous portions and a varied menu, including six varieties of moules. The Belgian ambience and attentive staff make it well worth a visit.

Had a meal recently with 3 friends for a rare girl’s evening out. Lovely tasty food, cooked well. Great service and cosy atmosphere. Definitely will come again.

The overall ambience was disappointing and the chips were soggy and lukewarm. Lighting too bright - service was quick and impersonal. But pleased with the 20% discount due to the cinema ticket.

Lovely service, disappointing food with a ridiculous combination on the menu....fish and chips, thai curry, sunday roasts, moules.....trying to be far too many things and failing to be any of them

Had a meal for 10 people. 9 roasts and one fish and chips. Really good starters all round and good roasts. Looked after well. Thank you.
