The team at Birmingham’s Cafe Opus know that sometimes only having a bit of what you fancy is going to cut it. As such, the menu is scattered with all day favourites (its OK, we often want pancakes at 3pm too) as well as more traditional main courses for bigger appetites. But, but, but, unlike other eateries in the area, Brindleyplace’s Cafe Opus is firmly rooted in reality, so great British food comes at sensible cafe prices.
There’s no shortage of ambition at Brindleyplace’s Cafe Opus. In fact, as the rest of the city descends into an orgy of beef-based one-upmanship (we’re going to go out on a limb and suggest we’ve hit peak burger by now), Cafe Opus is leading by example with Meatfree Mondays – serving local produce from the team’s partners at Worcester Produce. Likewise, the weekday menu (two courses for less than a tenner) represents proper value food for this part of the city. When the sun makes an appearance, the cafe’s terrace is a super place to drink in the good weather with some great British food, but rain or shine, the dining room is a vibrant and unfussy place for superior food in Birmingham.
