We go weak at the knees for good Italian food, so it’s no wonder that the Capeesh London in Canary Wharf won us over pretty much straight away. Situated in Pan Peninsula Square, Capeesh is an authentic Italian restaurant complete with a luxurious lounge and a sky bar with panoramic views of the city. There’s nothing better than kicking back with a glass of Montepulciano while enjoying some sumptuous dishes such as fresh mussels sautéed with white wine and lemon or paccheri pasta in a creamy truffle and mushroom sauce, at the same time as taking in the views at the top of one of Canary Wharf’s skyscrapers. This is one popular spot, so we advise you book in advance to beat the queues!
The food and service were good and the staff very pleasant, and the meal was very good value. However, the red wine had, apparently, been outside, and was very cold, as there was snow on the ground, so that was less enjoyable than it should have been. And the music in the adjacent lounge was loud, disco-style, and did not aid the digestion of a nice Italian meal.
Lovely restaurant, staff very friendly and attentive. The portions are large and it is great value. The roof top bar has unrivalled views and is a must see with some very well made cocktails
Will be back, 2 of us very pleased with food, 1 felt long life cream was used in her pasta dish so not as special as hoped for - but could be wrong
