Delicious food and excellent value. A slight mix up with my main course (probably caused by French waiter not understanding my Scottish accent) I accepted the dish they brought though they were more than willing to cook what I had ordered. It was my second choice and was delicious..

We came for lunch today to celebrate my finishing work to go on maternity leave. The menu had a great selection of options for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious and was served quickly. The staff couldn't have been nicer and the atmosphere was lovely. A great send off - thank you!

Cardo was recommended by a friend and exceeded our expectations. Interesting menu, delicious food, ample portions and attentive service made for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

My friend and I often catch up every couple months. I had been to Cardo before so introduced my friend to the restaurant. She was very impressed so much so she called her son (21yrs) to tell him he would love it. Such a great menu to choose from with specials too. Wine selection is fantastic . The staff very attentive and friendly too. Value for money . We will definitely be back .

Loved it!! 1st time back after our Christmas eve visit...so good to be back, food was amazing as it always is. A lovely Thursday afternoon lunch, quiet...but its nice quiet as it is busy, nice atmosphere with the music, lovely staff and as I said the food was outstanding...back again soon.

Cardo was a lovely place ,the food was excellent as were the staff who were very attentive.the only thing that let it down we’re the noise levels.

As always, a great lunch from start to finish. Top class cuisine with excellent flavour, cooked to perfection! Service was attentive and informative. Clientele included young and old with family groups as well as couples.

Had a lovely dinner at Cardo. Food amazing, service great, brilliant atmosphere. Would highly recommend . Recommend the crab samosas, the mixed meat platter with venison and pigs cheek was unbelievable.

The food was excellent and the staff were attentive without being obtrusive. The only negative was the lighting was so low we could barely read the menu.

First off I have to say the food is amazing as always, couldn't fault it. Sadly it was pretty much everything else that was a bit of a let down on Christmas Eve visit. When my wife & myself arrived we were told that we wouldn't be sitting in the main room of Cardo but we would have sit in the back dining room, which I think is or was Café Duo?, it was cramped...the guy at the table behind me was reluctant to move, after being asked twice. As we were sitting next to the door near the window we had the draft, it also felt very unlike Christmas in the room...lack of decoration, atmosphere or music...any kind of music. Ordered wine and a starter, no wine so we picked something else...which was lovely & the starter was beautiful. While waiting for the main course I was told the card machine was not working and they were only accepting cash. As I don't usually carry that much cash, I had to ask what the bill was likely to be and I had to leave my wife and the restaurant to find a cash machine, as I was crossing the street just outside the young guy serving our table shouted over that he'd forgot to add on the wine, so the bill was going to be this much more. So after a good walk to two cash machines because the first one wasn't working, I managed to get cash and then re-joined my wife at Cardo, who was now playing Christmas music through her Phone...so there was some music in the background. Two beautiful main meals arrived, which we both enjoyed. We both had nice deserts, would have had coffee but at this point we were both just looking to leave and go for a drink somewhere else. Also like to add that when people leave this back room to use the toilets they had to dodge extra seating for the restaurant, bags of rubbish etc and a guy cutting cheese almost right outside the toilet door. All in all Christmas Eve's at Cardo was a bit disappointing, especially after previous visits we've had with family & friends where everything has gone great.

Staff were visibly extremely busy on arrival. Didn’t look like sufficient staff for the amount of customers in the restaurant which I think impacted on the customer service aspect. Orderedthe chateaubriand which was lovely. Enjoyed the green peppercorn sauce. Thought the gratin dauphinois portion was too small but tasty enough. Nice bottle of wine. The best part about our meal was the pudding. It was excellent for both of us. Beautifully presented and tasted amazing.
