Good service, good menu and good food. Staff are friendly We recently visited for lunch. We recommend the carbonara, confit duck and tiramisu.

All the staff were very helpful and engaging. On arrival as I had asked for a quite table the manager kindly explained that it was Saturday and unlikely to get a quiet corner, but he gave us our choice of the tables available and was very accommodating. The music was louder than I expected it to be, as we wanted to be able to talk without having to shout. I did enquire as to whether it could be turned down a bit. The food was good and came in a very reasonable time. The manager talked to us after our lunch and offered us samples of the Panettone on offer at the shop. He was very generous and offered us seconds! As I will be in Italy for Christmas sadly I did not wish to purchase one as I will be buying one out there. I would definitely go back again another time when visiting Cambridge. We all agreed it was a good place to have lunch.

Lots of members of staff on the floor but still took an awkwardly long time to be acknowledged when we arrived. They couldn’t find our reservation and were looking for it for a while before we were sat - not sure why really. For context, there was only one other table sat at that time so it wasn’t busy. Even though empty, they wanted to seat us on a tiny table next to the toilet - I requested a different table and that was no trouble. My daughter ordered pizza which was very good, I had the seafood linguine which was ok. It wasn’t very hot and the seafood was pretty rubbery - it seemed like it had been prepared from frozen rather than fresh. The food came pretty fast which was good because we were in a bit of a hurry. We had meal vouchers through our Vitality membership and that was no problem to process.

Grossly and pitifully understaffed. Couldn’t get attention or get served. Had to leave after one course simply because we could not find anyone to take a further order. Declined the service charge for the first time since 2012. A great shame that staff are forced to work so unsupported, and a disservice to the good food and brand, although portions are noticeably smaller. An unnecessary contribution to the decline of the restaurant sector. Such a shame.

Lovely restaurant! My salat and husband's steak were amazing,, very tasty. The staff in Cambridge restaurant is polite, very helpful, lovely and friendly (it was not a problem for them to move our booking earlier). We had a lovely time thanks to all these lovely people who work there. Thank you.

Overall very pleasant but I would have liked my gin and tonic served separately from each other so I could mix them.

Food was perfectly fine but very expensive. Also very dissatisfied with the 12.5% service charge. The restaurant was also very cold, so much so that we didn’t want to stay for a dessert. Unlikely to return to this .restaurant.

Too much chicken in my meal, too little beef in my partner's. Placed at a table that wasn't cleaned - still had someone else's glass of water there. Unused cutlery left on the table for 4 even though only 2 people using the table (waiters not interested). Menu is a lot less interesting than it used to be. Could be worse - so not giving it a lower score - but not good either.

For some reason on the date of our visit the waiting times after the order was taken was incrediably long. The lady waiting on us reduced our bill by way of apology (it wasnt her fault so that was nice) but it wasnt great waiting with starving children. Food was delicious when it arrived.

Enjoyable meal. One negative comment; my wife is allergic to chocolate and all but one of the desert options contained chocolate. Very restrictive

Overall the three of us had an enjoyable pre-theatre visit to Carluccio's. The welcome was friendly, the service attentive but not intrusive, the atmosphere relaxed and informal. We thought that the food and drinks menus were both rather limited, but we each found something to our taste.

Staff were very helpful and found a suitable spot for us to store my partner’s mobility scooter near our table. We were off to the Corn Exchange for a concert so we had a limited amount of time and just had a main and dessert. They offer a 2 or 3 course set menu which offers better value. Service was good and the food was very nice. Would definitely recommend and will visit again when we are next in Cambridge.
