Carluccio's - Cambridge

Food was very yummy. Orange was missed out of my Aperol Spritz so I had to get up and ask for a slice. No apology. The service charge seemed quite steep.

Staff friendly but portions small and over-priced. I had arancini (just literally 3 mouthfuls), a spaghetti carbonara (about 200g, which tasted of lard), and 2 walnut-sized scoops of ice cream. My wife had a better meal (sea-bass fillets). With a glass of wine and a bottle of Moretti this came to £88.

Busy time of the day but waitress was efficient and prompt . Very dog friendly which was fantastic. Pizzas were delicious.

Nice ambience, friendly staff. Waiting time for one starter and one main course was about 45-60 minutes. Usual on a Saturday in Cambridge? Not sure but probably.

I'm not sure what people moan about. It nearly put me off booking a meal for my mother and me. The food was tasty and hot, and the service couldn't have been any better.

I visited carluchios in Cambridge last night for my birthday with 6 friends we were totally shocked at the service charge on our bill, we don't mind giving a tip but that was way over the top also we were shocked to be told the restaurant was closing at 9pm, as having booked a table for 7.45pm it didn't give us long to enjoy our celebration meal as we had to move on to somewhere else. maybe the early closing time should have been stated on confirmation email and on the booking page to give customers a choice of booking an earlier table.

Disappointing, booked table on line for 5 15. No mention that the restaurant closed at 6pm. Very rushed. Should nit accept bookings after 4.30

The staff were attentive and professional. My husband’s pizza was tasty, my ravioli was ok but the profiteroles were disappointing. Unfortunately it was quite cool in the restaurant.

Carbonara was deemed‘delicious’ so was the sea bass, my salad was a little overloaded with dressing (should have asked for it on the side’ and grilled chicken rather dry and tough, but overall good 👍

Disappointed in limited menu and small portions for main courses. Premises lacked physical warmth (on a cold day and heating system fault) and felt unwelcoming. Staff were reasonably attentive and efficient. Would be ok for light lunch when shopping rather than birthday meal with friends.

This is the second time I have have visited in December and both times I have received a warm and friendly service which is efficient and the food has been very yummy too.

First time at Carluccio’s. Had a nice lunch, although the sauce for the gnocchi was more chilli hot than I expected from Italian, and a bit too spicy for me.

All the staff were very helpful and engaging. On arrival as I had asked for a quite table the manager kindly explained that it was Saturday and unlikely to get a quiet corner, but he gave us our choice of the tables available and was very accommodating. The music was louder than I expected it to be, as we wanted to be able to talk without having to shout. I did enquire as to whether it could be turned down a bit. The food was good and came in a very reasonable time. The manager talked to us after our lunch and offered us samples of the Panettone on offer at the shop. He was very generous and offered us seconds! As I will be in Italy for Christmas sadly I did not wish to purchase one as I will be buying one out there. I would definitely go back again another time when visiting Cambridge. We all agreed it was a good place to have lunch.
