Still the best Restaurant in Knaresborough and probably in North Yorkshire. Menu fabulous as was the food, service and ambiance. House wine also very good.
Excellent early bird Valentines Day meal; great atmosphere, food, wine and service. We live in Kirkstall and it was very easy for us to hop on a train, get off at Knaresborough, enjoy a pre-dinner drink at The Mitre and stroll up to Carriages. We shall be doing it again!
Everything excellent we couldn't fault a thing. Food of high standard the waiter service was excellent very tentative.didnt have to wait for table that we had booked the place was very busy.
Fantastic meal and the service was exceptional The atmosphere was warming and very pleasant Will return, highly recommend a visit to sample the hospitality you will not regret it
Overall very good experience, service was a bit slow but we were not too bothered about this as we were not in a rush. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff.
Excellent food in a cosy friendly wine bar. Highly recommend a visit. A varied menu which changes regularly. Friendly helpful staff and easy booking through quandoo
We had an excellent meal, staff are very friendly and the place itself is lovely. Only thing we weren't keen on was the music didn't feel it was necessary.
Fantastic night had at Carriages. Food was delicious and customer service / attention to detail was spot on thank you. Will definitely be eating there again!
Great place to eat in Knaresborough. Good menu choices and great staff. Eaten here on a number of occasions and would recommend it to you. Dave D
We had a lovely experience at your restaurant, the service was good. A couple of things with the food, we had dauphinoise potatoes which were not great, i.e. too much butter, which had melted in the dish and therefore much too greasy, we could not eat them and the Brussels sprouts were too hard, I could not even cut into them. Our coffee was delivered without milk and we had to ask for it, the coffee was cold by then. Otherwise a lovely restaurant with great atmosphere.
Having been dining at Carriages and enjoying tapas for many years, we were a little disappointed with the selection available this time. The ham hock croquets were huge, as were the beef patties - just too much when sharing with company. Where were the much loved meatballs? For the very first time we had to send a dish back as it was cold and dry. Some other dishes could also have been served much hotter. The food was good quality but somehow the meal lacked it's usual finess. However, as always, the staff were most welcoming and so very helpful.
Really good experience as always. Food excellent and staff friendly and efficient. We even got an amuse-bouche to start the meal. Washed it all down with a couple of bottles of Malbec. Meandered back to the hotel happy and content!
