The mission at Carve London is to serve food your stomach will remember. At least three meats and one fish are carved each day and a vegetarian option is crafted as well, each of which can be paired with an exciting combination of veggies, grains and homemade sauces for one heck of a nutritious meal. Meats often range from free-range roast chicken to Lincolnshire jerk turkey, Landroc pork belly or slow-cooked salt beef, then meal bases include coconut rice and chilli sweet potatoes among much else. We don’t know of anywhere better around Southwark for British-style meat this good.
On Tooley Street, the Carve dining space isn’t packed full of tables – meaning a reservation is always a good shout – but it is nail-bitingly cool and stylish. It’s contemporary in terms of how it looks which provides a nice contrast to the menu which, in truth, is back to basics, primal (Carve’s own words) cooking.
