Castello is a casual but refined eatery that has a strong neighbourhood vibe, so it’s a great place to do the Mediterranean thing and settle in for a lengthy, sociable meal. Even better, this Esher favourite right on High Street has not just the setting but the food to match a Mediterranean affair. From deep-fried French brie to authentic Italian quattro stagioni stone-baked pizza, a Greek-style aubergine and tomato bake to succulent salmon baked in the oven or juicy steaks drizzled with blue cheese and mushroom sauce, Castello’s menu offers a sweeping tour of the flavours of the Mediterranean, so there is bound to be something to suit everyone. Castello is certainly no secret around greater London, though, so it’s always wise to reserve a spot well ahead.
Delicious fresh and beautifully cooked food and really friendly service. This is becoming a favourite venue for me and friends. Thank you for another good evening (celebrating my daughters university degree).
