The food was lovely and the service was great. 4 year old also really enjoyed the food on the kids menu. The atmosphere was good too
Very attentive staff, great meat menu, generous sides, scrumptious desserts. If you are not a steak eater - give it a miss. If you are a steak eater - ticks all the boxes.
Lovely restaurant. Fab food and very reasonably priced too. I don't actually do steak but my lovely friends tell me it was amazing. I had the pumpkin rissoto, made a change from mushroom and was very scrummy xx
Love the empenada starters and the churros desert great start and finish to a really good steak melt in your mouth dinner and the red Fancy Pants wine is good value
This was our 3rd visit to Cau @ Tunbridge Wells, I have to say if this was our first visit I would most definitely have hesitated dining again. First two visits were both excellent with zero complaints, food was superb and so was the service, however on this visit my youngest son only received half of his meal. The waiter apologised and said he would bring the missing items promptly. He returned approximately 5 mins later to say there would be another further delay of a few minutes for the missing items. They never turned up and neither did the waiter bother to check we were ok or inform us, he arrived at the meal end to take desert orders which were another 15mins before they showed up. The food is great, the service was terrible on Sunday 17th December evening, and it was not even busy In the restaurant. I will dine again with my fingers crossed that it was a one off.
There is a new menu which I feel does not have enough variety. I chose the chicken escalope which was poorly presented and rather bland. There were 4 of us and with drinks the bill came to £167 which I thought was horrendously expensive for the cafe style food we had eaten. The cocktails were good especially the first one which was all nicely garnished making it look like £10 worth - they didn’t bother with the second one! The liquor coffee was served in the same style glass that soft drinks were served in and was too hot to pick up at first - they definitely short changed on the liquor. Sorry to say that I Definitely won’t be going back!
The food was great, and the was service as well. the staff were very understanding and accomodating when we said we were on a schedule. the only thing that was a little disappointing was that even though we had booked, we were still sat upstairs pretty much on our own so there wasn't much atmosphere, however downstairs seemed great when we walked through ...
Went on Mother’s Day so it was very busy and the restaurant had major issues with their oven so everything was really slow. The staff were so lovely and were trying to keep everyone happy that we didn’t mind being there twice as long as we should have been!!! Well done to all the staff for a really difficult day!!
I didn't find the menu particularly helpful for a coeliac (medical condition requiring gluten free). There were no gf starters or puddings on the formula menu but they did make something for me which was appreciated. The meat was excellent. Staff very pleasant, although we were overcharged on the bill - which they amended when it was pointed out.
Really good service! Loved all of the food it was amazing! My Dad and his girlfriend were very surprised at how lovely the food was. Been here multiple times and will definitely be back!
