It’s not often you’ll find a genuinely authentic Lebanese restaurant, but Cedars of Leicester is exactly that. Everything from the look of the restaurant itself – it’s on Narborough Road in Westcotes and is elegant yet wonderfully cosy – to the food coming out of the kitchen is as typically Lebanese as you’re going to get. This means a fantastic variety of hot and cold mezzes for sharing and a big use of pickles, olives, cheese, yoghurt, nuts, grain, herbs and spices. Cedars tries to capture family life in Lebanon and we think it succeeds in all the right ways. It’s popular in Leicester, mind you, so do reserve a table ahead of time.
