“The set lunch here is a bargain”
– Good Food GuideNestled on the corner of South and Cooper Street is the quaint Côte Brasserie. Modern and stylish, this Chichester restaurant is inspired by the classic brasseries of Paris. It’s not difficult to see why the Côte Brasserie family have established themselves as the leaders in French cuisine in the United Kingdom – just take a look for yourself. Located in the city centre of Chichester, Côte Brasserie offers something delicious to suit all tastes. Serving up brasserie classics like fish parmentier and char-grilled Breton chicken, or steak frites, this French favourite will have you coming back for time and time again. Côte Brasserie does tend to fill up though, so it’s recommended you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Chichester is surrounded by beautiful countryside, history and incredible diversity which makes it the perfect location for the beloved French restaurant Côte Brasserie. Situated in the city centre on South Street, Côte Brasserie boasts a chic interior with polished wooden floorboards and beautiful natural light. The fact that the team behind Côte Brasserie have taken the time to source wines from small regional wineries throughout France and train their staff to perfectly match them to suit all dishes on offer shows you just how dedicated they are to providing the best possible service for their guests.
Connoisseurs of all-day French dining, if you make your reservation for the evening, we recommend an entrée of breadcrumbed squid sautéed in garlic, lemon and parsley with tartare sauce, followed up by classic brasserie favourite beef Bourguignon with potato chive purtée, bacon lardons and chestnut mushrooms. Dessert of course must follow such a decadent start to the evening, and their mouthwatering chocolate fondant served with vanilla ice cream is the perfect finish to your evening. Côte Brasserie in Chichester has become a local favourite since its establishment and we can’t recommend paying a visit enough – so pop in to this city centre brasserie to relax and see what everyone is talking about.
Yet again a first class meal. This time we went for the main menu.Starter of smoked salmon was very generous with delicious dressing. The sea bream for the main course is to be recommended .It was very fresh and beautifully presented. The Breton chicken was very tender and tasty. The staff were as always attentive and courteous.
Great breakfast and great service. The choice suited our group, ths vegetarian breakfast was particularly good and the portions were bigger than expected. Will go again
As always a fantastic breakfast with good friendly service. Always a great experience. Will be returning again soon. Would definitely highly recommend. One of the best venues in Chichester.
Our visit on 12 March was excellent, meal was well prepared with plenty of choice,Staff were attentive and friendly. Comfortable surroundings, evening felt special.Well worth a visit.
This was our first time dining at a Cote restaurant. We registered for their reward scheme prior to booking and got a free bottle of wine worth £24.95 (the wine was excellent by the way). To get the free bottle of wine, 2 of us had to choose from the ala-carte menu whereas the other 3 chose from the early diners menu. The food was great - not large portions - but we all came away feeling satisfied. What was strange was the one of the mains didn't come with potatoes included in the price.. so effectively it was just a piece of chicken - albeit very nice chicken.. so we had to order frites as a side .. which was an additional cost. The staff were very attentive. The restaurant was clean and tidy. The only other thing to mention was the children's menu - its designed for 7 year olds .. so we ended up ordering from the ala-carte for our 11 year old .. which i'm glad we did, because as stated earlier, the portions are not very large! We would definitely back to try other dishes from the menu.
Great food. Good service by the two waiters but not by the person who brought the food out. She didn’t think to clear the table of olives, bread and side plates before trying to place down three main course plates and a side order which was on a large plate. This opulent for into the middle of the table so she pushed my plate to the side which would have meant me eating from the corner of the table. We suggested she cleared the table first, then took the side order dish off the huge plate it had come in and then it would fit. She did this, slid my plate back in front of me, placed my knife which had been used to spread butter on my bread back on my plate, this then slid into the jus! I asked for another knife, she then asked whether we had everything we wanted, so I again requested a knife to eat my pork belly with. She seemed impossible incompetent. Such a shame...otherwise a great meal!
Once again my guest and I were made VERY welcome and given a "favourite"/preferred table. The service and attention to detail for our comfort and enjoyment throughout was EXCELLENT and our meal delicious and perfectly "balanced" for our requirements. We each ordered: Crab & avocado starter; "Pot au chocolat" for dessert; & a glass of no: 7 from your wine list - Sauvignon Blanc. Also we were served a complimentary Kir Royale before our meal. Thank you. I shall certainly continue to bring both friends and guests to Côte Chichester and to thoroughly recommend that other intending diners should book tables and eat there! I look forward to my next visit(s). Once more, very many thanks. All good wishes to everyone. You should be very proud of your Staff and Chef!!!!
We make a point of eating here whenever we have a Chichester Festival Theatre visit planned provided that it is during the week. The reason for this is that their pre-theatre special meal, which offers superb value for money, is only available during the week. For weekend visits we go to Raymond Blanc so there's a lesson to be learned there. Food and service are both good and they are not "pushy". If you want just tap water to drink then that's fine. There is just one downside, which fortunately did not occur yesterday. Halfway through your meal they normally turn down the lights to the point that you can barely see your meal. If you complain they might turn them up fractionally but never enough. Perhaps I should take my brilliantly bright LED headlamp with me to stress the point. Get this right and I would give them a 100% recommendation. As it is, I can't.
We had a lovely evening. As always, the staff were very welcoming, courteous and attentive. They are so well trained that they make the diner feel cared for without being too intrusive when we're having a private conversation. and without being obsequious. We went a la carte (so that we could take advantage of my reward of a very decent bottle of Merlot!) which was so varied that we were spoiled for choice. We started with a bowl of spicy olives then I went for the warm Roquefort and endive salad followed by the duck while my companion had the French onion soup with Breton chicken to follow. We both thoroughly enjoyed everything. We decided to skip pudding but had coffee instead. Thank you, Cote, we'll be coming back soon.
My husband and I had a short break away in Chichester and I found this lovely restaurant on TripAdvisor. Reviews were good so we thought we'd give it a try. We were not disappointed. Service was impeccable and the food was the best French food we've had outside of France! Can't say more than that really! The place was really buzzing and had a great 'vibe' about it. We both had the Breton chicken as our main course and it was absolutely perfect. (I used to work in Brittany so do know a good Breton chicken!). We were perfectly ok to have the gratuity added to our bill. The service was well worth it. Would we return? Yes! Without a moment's hesitation!
