Always a pleasure to come to Cote in Highgate. The staff are unfailingly helpful and professional and I am very sorry the restaurant will have to close again now because of Covid. I shall look forward to coming back in December. again. Alette
Asked for 2 minute stakes that were too tough and impossible to chew. We asked them to be replaced by 2 medium rare sirleon stakes. At £19.5 each they were real waste of money because the were both raw uncooked and the meat was so tasteless that they were both half eaten. This was so disappointing that we'll never go back to Cote again.
Great staff, great food. Always consistent and good value for money. Thank you Terry Cooper
Enjoyed all our food but found the lamb rump a bit more fatty than I would have expected. Will always come back to Cote but would not have that dish again.
Excellent food, service and value for money can’t wait to go back!
As always, a friendly reception, a table situation as requested when booking, and the bonus of a cocktail to commence. Rilletes were as reliable as ever (though a little erring on the over-generous side -- I had to ask my partner, who'd only had the light fig salad to help me out. Hake with dauphinois potatoes with a champagne sauce was a match made, not in heaven, but in the kitchen: thank you.
Fab food, fab service lovely surroundings and a good price
A pleasure to visit Cote in Highgate. Great staff and great food. Glad they’ve reopened again after Covid.
Delicious food and helpful staff. Lovely setting. Thank you.
The Fish Parmentier was delicious, service good and ambience good and safe!
In these Distressing Covid times it is so good to still enjoy the ”Cote spirit” of fine French cooking with their excellent service and straight forward ambience! Keep going please.
Always consistent in every respect, never a let down. Great staff, warm welcome, good food, good value. Cote is our go to place to end our day/week ! Lovely to be taken care of. Thank you all. Terry Cooper
1 main course was a real struggle on account of poor quality lamb but a generous price-adjustment was instantly offered without asking.
Hi - The place setting in front of me when I removed my serviette had a sticky patch from, I'm guessing, the previous diner - I asked the waitress to clean the place in front of me which she did immediately and in a very professional way. The bottle of Cote du Rhone my wife ordered was not to our taste, we asked instead for a bottle of Merlot which was with us in a flash with minimal fuss. My wife ordered 2 starters and a green salad, I ordered the belly pork. My wife enjoyed her French onion soup - although the toasted triangular crouton floating on top was burnt black at the edges. The belly pork and rillettes arrived, as requested, at the table at the same time. The rillettes were over spiced with an aroma reminiscent of christmas pudding - I thought it tasted of a heavy hand when including the mace - although upon enquiring, no mace was used at all in its prep. My wife and I swapped plates as she could not bear the over spicing of whatever kind - mace - cloves ? My pork belly was dry at the edges but tolerable - what I found strange about the dish however was the inclusion of an overabundance of sultanas - I stopped counting at 15 ! The salad had black decay at the edges on some of the green outer leaves and neither of us fancied a slimy leaf salad so we left it untouched. I asked for the service charge to be removed along with the price of the salad. The reason I asked for service to be removed because after we had declined a pudding we waited ages for anyone to appear on the floor to provide us with the bill. Also in these times the least one would expect is a clean table to eat from. So, all in all not a very enjoyable experience - perhaps if it was a set meal rather than a la carte I would have felt less cheated.
A nice lunch with a very good service and a little disappointment. We hoped to start the meal with the October cocktail but also, the Fig liquor wasn't available to create it. We were offered other options. A real pity to not have the ingredients for the Special October cocktail.
Lovely food. Lovely atmosphere. One of my favourite places. Always enjoyable
Even in these difficult times this restaurant deliverers time after time and definitely punches above its weight ,, as always fantastic ,,food ,drink and service, see you soon
Great service, great food and great value, what more could you want.
Good menu, including the October specials. Excellent cooking. Careful service.
Great night... the only thing is the you change for a small bread basket to me should me no cost.
Lovely welcome as we returned to Cote Highgate. Felt very safe, tables well spaced, staff wearing masks, hand sanitisers everywhere. We enjoyed the delicious seasonal cocktail dubonnet aux figues which tasted even better as it was complimentary! The calamari starter was enough for 2 and perfectly cooked. My dining partner chose Breton fish stew, a huge bowl of shellfish and big pieces of sea bass, delicious apparently. My poulet grille was beautifully cooked, tender chicken and gratin potato with very tasty sauce. An enjoyable evening, great to be out. Special thanks to our server Filipa who always makes us feel very welcome.
You can always rely on excellent food and service . Very welcoming thank you
Great Restaurant, Lovely Atmosphere, good staff and fab decor and ambience...........
A lovely evening. The arrangement of the room and the excellent service made Grandpa's 85th birthday meal very special. Three generations could forget for an evening that we are in very strange and anxious times.
Excellent food and service as ever: new things and old favorites. The only problem with the Highgate Cote is the level of background noise.
Friendly staff, very welcoming, but steak which was supposed to be medium rate was completely over-cooked.
Spacious so felt very safe. Clean. Good food as ever. Excellent service.
It is so good to be able to have a decent meal in a restaurant again. I always enjoy eating at Cote.
We had a delicious meal with warm and efficient service
My pork belly was scrumptious, with plenty of finely-chopped cabbage beneath, well-matched with dauphinoise potatoes. My partner tells me her chicken salad was bursting with freshness. We both enjoyed our wines (Chateau Neuf du Pape for me, Sauvignon for her) and our tarte Tatin desserts.
Pleasant welcome and apparent adherence to virus requirements (first night of 10:00 PM closure). All chicken dishes were very good but the portion size and size of mussles in my Moules Mariniere order was meagre to say the least. It seemed to be no more than 1/4 kilo! A meagre portion of frites accompanied the moules and no French bread was offered. I left the restaurant still hungry but said nothing on the evening as I didn't want to embarass my guests. Never again!
We had a very nice lunch on Friday, and enjoyed our salmon and ratatouille and steak and fries. For desert we shared a lovely chocolate fondant. The staff were friendly and efficient. We will definitely be going again.
Excellent service and food from start to finish - we enjoyed immensely!
It was very noisy, the tables were not sufficiently distant from each other and the staff did not wear masks. So it was unsafe. The food was ok.
Food today was fantastic. My friends and I loved it. Lamb to die for and a great beef stew. Super clean and covid protected. Lovely staff. What’s not to like?
The waitress was brilliant, very friendly. Good food and good value.
Consistently good service, food and value. A regular for good reason.
It's always a festive occasion when we come to Cote, and now that the family's favourite dish - onion soup - is back on the menu, it feels almost as if coronavirus never happened. Even if we had to wear masks to go to the toilet. The staff are always welcoming and wonderfully accommodating and the September cocktail - rhubarb martini - was divine.
One of my favourite places and it was lovely as always. Disappointed they didn’t have the cocktail of the month though and I had to ask for a replacement which didn’t really match the promise.
A super experience from start to finish. Superb staff, fantastic food and wine. Congratulations to you for the welcome and ambience in your establishment.
