Côte Brighton restaurant

Dined at Cote Brighton on Friday with two friends down from London. We were really pleased with the food and service, especially Bartosz who really looked after us. The creme caramel was yummy!!

We went to see a show at Theatre Royal Brighton yesterday. Obvious nearby restaurant to eat at Cote! Had a very good late lunch, prices have increased a bit but still good value. Staff were very attentive and friendly.

We went to see the new James Bond film at The Komedia cinema on Thursday and just round the corner is Cote Brighton, our favourite restaurant. Great to eat there again and Jules, as always, made us feel really welcome.

The food was quite good, but not exceptional. The service was absolutely great, with lovely waiting staff, just the right tone and level of attention. Waiting times were good. The noise levels were too high, with several large birthday groups shouting at each other at their tables, which rather spoilt the experience.

Eight of us went to Cote Brighton for my sister's birthday yesterday 1st August. Jules and her team made us feel very welcome, we all had a lovely afternoon with good food and wine.

Lovely pre theatre meal. Great food and good service as always.

Menu a little more restrictive in the post could environment but still gives a good choice

Visited the David Bowie exhibition in Brighton and what better place to go for lunch after, Cote of course. Great food and service.

We went to Cote Brighton last Friday for a friends belated birthday treat, which is always a good present as we get to enjoy the lunch as well! The service and food were great.

I normally give Côte 5 stars, but this visit was most definitely not their finest hour. The principle complaint would be the slowness of everything. I'll just mention the pork terrine from the new menu - to my mind rather too salty - also, I personally think it would have benefited from being presented at room temperature from a flavour point of view, as opposed to being so cold it could almost have come out of the freezer, and thus being rather flavourless. Anyway, back to time. I arrived at 6pm (hardly peak evening) but did not leave until after 8pm. Now it is true I had 3 courses, but let's consider that. My starter was the pork terrine, either ready platted up and in the refrigerator, and sliced and put on a plate (with 2 pieces of toast, which is hardly a chore!). Next I had the minute steak (quick to cook) but rather than have the frites I opted for gratin potatoes instead. These are served in a dish and any restaurant would cook these in advance, and just warm the in the oven for a brief period of time. After that I was left waiting about 10 minutes for the waitress to clear those plates away. I asked for the dessert menu, but this did not turn up for about another 10 mins. I ordered the tart au citron. This was a pre-prepared tart (as would be expected) with a spoonful of creme fraiche and a raspberry. It took about 20 further minutes to arrive. My objection is not that such items are pre-prepared, but with so much of my meal not requiring 'from scratch' cooking, how can I possibly have been there from 6pm until after 8pm?! What also concerned me is that latterly people began to arrive and fill up the restaurant. With the current COVID situation, I try to eat earlier in order to avoid such scenarios. The waitress apologised for the delay when bringing the dessert, but, it seems, that was it as far as Côte were concerned. I love Côte but all this, along with the pork terrine, left a bad taste in the mouth ...

Lovely meal as always - when I booked I let them know I was in a wheelchair, and I did not have to ring up when outside unlike some establishments: at Côte the ramp was all in place for me when I arrived. Delicious food was well complimented by the staff - incredibly helpful and nothing too much trouble, even if it is slightly altering something on the set menu! Highly recommended.

I always delight at visiting this restaurant - not the cheapest in town but all delicious!

Always such a lovely place to go. Never had a bad experience since our Daughter in law introduced us to this gem a couple of years ago. Will always return

We had our anniversary at Cote in Brighton and as usual it was lovely food and great service. We received complimentary champagne and the staff could not have been nicer. We have had many meals there over the last 5 years and not once had a bad meal or bad service.

We visited Cote Brighton last Friday for a belated lockdown birthday lunch. We always receive a warm welcome from Jules and Gabor. Alexis was really helpful with one of our party who has food allergies. As always, helpful staff, good food, wine making it a lovely afternoon.

Visited Cote Brighton again yesterday with three friends. Great to be back, good food, wine and service. We had a very nice afternoon.

As usual, an excellent lunch. The set lunch at the increased price represents fair value for money but not as good value as previously.

Cote only accepts cash which I find inconvenient. It is now established that Covid infection is by aerosol and not by surfaces so there is no excuse for not accepting cash. Cash is legal tender and should be accepted. I shall try and avoid establishments that will not accept cash in the future. Sadly, this took the edge off a good lunch.

Fantastic Christmas Exe evening at Cote Brighton, looked after by the fabulous Zoe and the team, perfect service to match the superbly cooked fillet steak that arrived exactly as ordered.

Always a lovely meal. The rest’rant’s been configured to deal with social distancing very well. Can’t wait for this pesky COVID to go so we can visit again.

Wonderful service and made us feel very special as it was our anniversary

The food wasn't up to the usual standard. My husband had a burger which he felt was dry and the bun inedible. The French onion soup was again below par. The waiter made mistakes on the bill 3 times. We were very disappointed as we have been to this restaurant numerous times and the food has always been consistent. We have been the past 3 Christmas Eves too. One main criticism is that in Covid 19 the tables were too close together.

The meal was fabulous very tasty and just amazing and the ambience was delightful however the desert was not set and was like eating custard!!! Apart from the desert was really nice
