First visit - can’t wait for the next one! The food - the beef in particular - was exceptional. Great place!
Went with a few friends we are disabled we had no problems we all enjoyed the food a very relaxing place to eat
Fantastic food, always a great day or night, staff attentive, great atmosphere Highly recommend
Very good food.pleasant decor and a friendly place to eat
The best example of American cuisine I’ve ever experienced. The Cow & Pig is located in a shopping/entertainment arcade surrounded by chain businesses. It feels out of place given its independent footing. After pressing the automatic door open button to enter I was taken aback by the cocktail bar setting. Bright lights and, if you’ve got at eye for detail, you’ll see a meat keepsake. Sat down at my modern, comfy seating I felt like part of a farmland scene with the fake teee overarching. Menu offerings focus on the Cow and Pig’s slow cooked meats. I went for 3 starters for £15 and the £20 meat platter. The meat was melt in the mouth. The pulled pork, the moist chicken, the sourdough... I was in hog’s heaven. The Cow & Pig is popular with the locals. I recommend booking your table in advance. Great for groups, and having a quick look at the clientele, suitable for all demographics. Get a piece of “meat of the land” mastery.
Food was lovely although ordered far too many side dishes, the mains don't have anything else with them. I attended with a friend and could have quite easily just ordered three side dishes between us not realising they were such big helpings, the mains don't have anything else with them so we both ordered three dishes each but it was far too much. Couldn't quite get my head around my food turning up in a wooden crate & my friends turning up on a baking tray but couldn't fault the food.
Excellent food, very average service. Had to wait 10 minutes to order drinks, 10 more for them to arrive. Food order was taken incorrectly and had to wait 30 minutes for extra food. Dessert menus given which we would have ordered...but no one came to take out order for 15 minutes! One waitress too interested in talking to her friends who were sat at one of the tables. Such a shame as you can see how hard the chefs are working and the food they make is always really tasty! Only reason for score of 4, would be mich higher if the service matched up to the food.
Great decor although the wooden seats got a little uncomfortable after a while. Lovely mr unwoth good food and lots of it. Nice touch being able to choose the steaks from a little fridge where they were hanging. It was my husband’s birthday and his dessert arrived with a candle! Very thoughtful. Service was very good with the right amount of time being left between courses and we weren’t rushed at all. We’ll definitely be back :)
Have visited this restaurant several times previously, but not for Sunday lunch. The food didn't disappoint and was faultless. Although we did have to wait a while. However, the restaurant redeemed themselves by telling her us before our departure that they were aware of a few shortfalls where service was concerned. Subsequently we were rewarded with a small reduction in our bill. This was refreshing to hear and has ensured that we will return again.
Food was excellent and the ambience and warmth of the restaurant was very good. The downside is that there aren’t enough staff and when we walked in we stood for several minutes before being acknowledged. They took drink orders from a large table that arrived after us and took an age before serving the drinks ( starter finished before first drink arrived). When we ordered a second drink it had quietened down but it still took forever. When we left there was no goodbye and had to recover our own coats. Staff are friendly but would benefit from serious training
