The trend towards pairing food and beer is a growing one, and similarly, the progress of American style food in the UK also marches apace. At Cured, you can experience the best of both worlds in the centre of Leicester. They match their house home-cured meats with beers from Brewdog: take your maple bacon with Punk IPA, your salmon pastrami with Electric Indian and your ox cheek bresaola with Jet Black Heart – all of which are served along with warm bread, honey and thyme butter, chutneys, piccalilli, red cabbage and apple slaw and veggie crisps. There are proper sandwiches too, and homemade beef jerky, beer-battered fried pickles, buttermilk fried chicken and mac & cheese balls to boot, so you can get your whole fix of American favourites.
