We first visited for our anniversary in October and couldn't fault it. Great olives and garlic bread starters. Then calzone and chicken pizzas. When the bill arrived it came with complimentary amaretto liqueur. Great touch. So we went again last night for my birthday. Garlic bread starters followed by a pasta dish and different calzone then onto sticky toffee pud and tiramisu. No amaretto this time but others diners got some! Bit let down by that. Overall great food in pleasant surroundings.

My first time visiting and was quiet in the restaurant. Reservation was perfect and I found a very pleasant and friendly atmosphere, food was cooked and presented to perfection, would definitely return.

Great food. Great staff. Great service. The food was very good and they went out of their way to please us. They were attentive and there when we wanted them. The staff were friendly and made the meal even better.

Food was delicious and very good value. Only negative was that music was a bit loud for us to have an easy conversation. My Dad is hard of hearing so it made it a bit difficult for him especially. Seemed a bit unnecessary to have it so loud (and I'm not an old fogie, honest). Otherwise, all good, so if that wouldn't bother you I'd recommend the place, definitely.

Welcomed at door, all staff were friendly and food was delicious. Would recommend both on price and quality of the food. Would use again if we come back to South Shields.

Came on a Tuesday evening after the Easter weekend and we were the only customers. This was nice as it felt like our own private party. The food was very lovely and exactly what we asked for. Food was brought with a smile. We would go back again.

Front of house excellent and engaging. Service was great and quick. Starters so so, highly reccomend the Bronzini (Sea Bass) Steak was fine. Out the door n happy for less than £50 for 2.

Service was excellent!! Food all lovely, served piping hot! Would have scored 6 if pollo inferno had been more spicy!! Lots of flavour but lacked spice. Will definitely return though!

Food lovely, service good but it took them five times before they got the bill correct, they tried to charge us £40 more than we actually spent!

We saw all the great reviews and went for a meal out here. I'm sure those others had a great meal here, but a review is about your experience. Unfortunately ours wasn't great. The garlic bread starter was good, so things started well. My partner had the lasagne, and she loves proper lasagne. This wasn't it. It was 'tray cooked', not an individual one. She said it tastes shop bought, like it had been brought in from Costco. Nothing wrong with that if it tastes good, but this didn't and she left most of it. I had pizza. The base was like a pre-cooked one that you just put ingredients on, so it was just OK but not what you'd expect from an Italian restaurant. Based on those mains we didn't go for a desert. The place was pretty full, and they were playing a Rhianna album fairly loudly, so the atmosphere wasn't what we were looking for, so we just decided to cut things short. The waitress didn't ask if we'd enjoyed our meal so we didn't have to lie (total cowards!). It's a small thing, but we had to ask 3 times for the bill. I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but I'm aware this has been a prior moan. It's such a cosy little place and the staff were really nice, I really wanted to like the it. But there are too many other good Italians to want to go here again.
