The original Don Vito’s opened up shop all the way back in 1976 and since then has been winning over the hearts and taste buds of Newcastle’s Italian cuisine addicts, serving up everything from homemade pizzas to rustic pasta dishes and array of meat and seafood from its location on Pilgrim Street in the Grainger Town area. To experience as much delicious appetisers as you possibly can, go for the antipasti sharing board (chargrilled flatbreads, tzatziki, smoked salmon arancini with lemon mayonnaise, a selection of the finest Italian cured meats, spicy meatball and parmesan bruschetta, caprese salad with balsamic glaze and fresh basil, marinated olives), before moving on to the main affair. We recommend the branzino, chargrilled tuna steak with a warm Italian bean and tomato salad, fresh oregano and lemon.
