Lovely food, generous portions, good service, a bit noisy but then it was Friday night.

We visited for our daughter's 18th birthday and wanted somewhere with great food and a good atmosphere as it was a Wednesday evening - El Toro did not disappoint - thanks for a lovely time.

We went for a birthday celebration, the restaurant was very busy but there is plenty of room between tables so it was cramped. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. We will definitely be visiting again.

Good food reasonably priced, and very good service. Would quite happily recommend to friends. I would suggest you book at weekend as it was quite busy on the Friday night

Friendly service, nice varied menu. Nachos starter was really tasty and generous portion. I had steak which was perfectly cooked, lovely chips. Good wine list, reasonably priced too! Would recommend to everyone.

Superb food and really good service and atmosphere. Best steak anywhere near Portsmouth. Sea bass was amazing - lovely sauce! Will be going again very soon!

Lovely, comfortable restaurant! You don’t feel like you’re on top of each other like you do in some places, staff and food was great. Will definitely go again, wanted to leave a tip but did not have any cash on us and they didn’t add gratuities option to the bill.

Food was fantastic and the sevice superb,great menu with varied an excellent choice would back plenty of times to try all the dishes I could of had.

Had a lovely dinner with my grandson,he had the rump steak,and said it was the best he'd ever had,and that's good enough for me. Lovely restaurant,lovely food,lovely people.

We ordered lamb and a hamburger. Food was good but we waited nearly one hour for it! Good customer service, toilet very clean. Lovely smell in the hair and got some chocolate with the bill.

Second visit, fillet steaks are great. Service is excellent and the decor and music is just right. Pricing is where it should be, plenty of midweek discounts.

The restaurant is warm welcoming and comfortable, the staff friendly and quick to assist. The Portions were definitely on the large size and the steak was cooked to perfection. Would definitely go again and would recommend to others without hesitation, the reviews on TripAdvisor were accurate and well earned.

This is the third time I have eaten here and I can't fault it. The steaks are to die for. So succulent and tasty. The sides are large enough for two people and very tasty. Staff are friendly and good ambience in the pretty restaurant.

Great service, nice decor. Usual range of cocktails and wine. Starters from the Tapas menu were excellent and the fillet steaks were awesome. Definitely will be returning. Group of 5 aged 33 to 60.

Food was lovely. Service was a tad on the slower side but as the food was so nice it was not an issue. Cocktails were expensive for what you got

First time at El Toro - very successful. Service team were very good, menu excellent, most enjoyable. The restaurant is clean and well decorated with good low background music. We will definitely visit again soon.

I have to say this is an absolutely fantastic place with great service, amazing food and the photos do not do it justice!! I certainly will return for more and would urge any steak lover to give the place a try - I can assure you that you wouldn't regret it!

Had a meal out with some French friends last night. We only ordered mains of several steaks and one mixed grill but we were very pleased. The steaks were lovely and would recommend the restaurant without hesitation. My partner and I were a little disappointed with our sauced ie blue cheese and peppercorn sauce that’s all but it would not put us off going again. Our French friends were very impressed so that says something in itself!

I had a nice meal here with some good service to, It was quick service but very professional. The decor of the restaurant was nice

It was very good. Servers and maître de were great, friendly, helpful and very competent. Food was lovely. We had a selection of delicious tapas to start (the duck and the squid were particularly good) and our mains were well presented and cooked to perfection. Prices were reasonable and we will be back!

First time going to this restaurant so didn’t know what to expect, food was lovely and good size portions and staff were all great. Would definitely go here again

Paella was stodgy and looked reheated, extremely disappointed as it is a rare dish. The check back to see if our food was okay was too late and he called over from 2m away so neither of us felt comfortable complaining. But the steak was amazing.
