Sheffield is a city packed with good Indian eateries, but Everest Restaurant in Heeley has been the one to return to time and time again for many a local. Warm, welcoming and friendly with cosy booths or long communal tables, Everest Restaurant has the feel of a true neighbourhood restaurant, one where you’ll likely know the owner’s name by meal’s end. Just to skip ahead, though, his name is Nasir Raja, and he has years of experience that he uses to inject some distinctive attributes into this Indian restaurant that has stood on Chesterfield Street since 1978. Raja has a great passion and respect for traditional dishes of northern India and Pakistan as well as a love for Anglo-Indian balti dishes, but he also strives to expand the menu and offer new tastes to returning customers, so Everest always has a few new creations and adaptations on its huge menu to keep things fresh.
Impressed with service staff polite and cheerful and eager to look after you.Food was served piping hot and in good time.Overall a very enjoyable experience in clean pleasant conditions
Overall, disappointed. The staff were attentive but not particularly friendly and no smiles! I went with a friend for the 2 for 1 offer but was told we had to have a starter and mains to qualify. Last time I went, this wasn't the case. Very confusing. Also, we are both visually impaired, my friend moreso than me, and although it wasn't obvious to staff, the waiter who brought our mains should have warned us how hot the sizzling dishes were. He placed my friend's dish dangerously close to her and I had to move it out of harm's way. Visually impaired or not, we should have had warning. The food was ok but my friend didn't enjoy hers as it was dry. The menu doesn't make it clear what comes with sauce and what doesn't and she couldnt read it anyway due to her blindness. The toilet facilities are a let down too. We didn't feel very welcome there overall and I'm sorry to say I won't be returning.
Gorgeous food and staff that were attentive and nothing too much to ask. Great restaurant. We had a great time and not to far from us made it all the better. Well done!!!!!
