Forn Bar & Restaurant

No-one turned up to open the place. Will never go back and will tell others not to bother. A disgrace!

We were served by Matt, he was very helpful and pandered to our every need. We had Tapas and swapped a couple of things which he did cheerfully, lovely food, we will come again.

We really enjoyed the space, the food the service was great. And will be going back soon.

A couple of the tapas dishes weren’t great- the whitebait and chicken escalopes. Was a bit of a shame as we were really looking forward to it. The service was lovely but the acoustics meant it was a bit loud in the restaurant.

The food was great and the atmosphere very good; however, the music was slightly too loud, which meant that conversation was a little strained. One anomaly that might be worth pointing out is that the enamel, 'primitive' plates on which visitors place their tapas are not in keeping with the rest of the interior design concept of the restaurant, which isn't based on a 'peasant' aesthetic.

The food was amazing, the atmosphere and the service were really good but there wasn't any live music even though we went on a Friday evening

Very poor service. We had to keep getting up to find the waitress so we could place first our drinks order and then our food order. We ordered some cocktails which we believed were under the 2 for 1 offer detailed on a leaflet on our table (which the waitress brought over as she advised not all cocktails on the main list were included in the offer). She then came back 5 minutes after we placed the order so say that the offer was no longer on as it was between 2 and 4pm (we were visiting at 8pm). Would have been helpful if she was aware of this before we went to the trouble of placing the order. When our food order did arrive, one dish was incorrect. Food was very tasty though so it’s a shame it was let down by the poor service.

We had a fish and meat platter board to share which was lovely. The only slight let down was the prawns as they had four or five head pieces which you cant eat and only three actual edible prawns :-/ but food quality was lovely and the house red wine was great value - perfect evening with beautiful food and wine in the forn garden - thankyou we will be back :-)
