had a nice lunch, fish & chips which in a drier crispier batter. I had a light bite lasagne which was nice, it came with tiny salad & a piece of garlic toast

Food not as good as it sounded. Chef likes salt. Only just warm enough. Staff were lovely, willing and gave good service

First time at this wonderful hostelry and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive . The food was beautiful and really good value for money. We would definitely visit again.

Booking was very straightforward. We were greeted on arrival and shown to our table. Staff were really friendly, service excellent and food extremely good. A very pleasurable experience.

Not what we were expecting. We were bitterly disappointed with the drastic change in the menu both in terms of price and choice. My first choice on the menu (tortellini) was unavailable – and I was very surprised to discover that there was no other pasta option, eg lasagne, on the menu. I ordered a sandwich made with focaccia bread, which was very bland and disappointing. Two of our party chose the Hunter’s Chicken, which they both described as “rubbery” and were unable to eat it. These meals were deducted from the final bill and we were also offered free desserts - so fair play to the staff who, as always, were attentive and friendly, particularly our waitress, Margaret. We will, however, be giving the Fox a miss for a while. Hopefully, things will return to their usual high standards soon.
