Galvin Green Man in Howe Street is one of the oldest pubs in Essex as well as a stunning restaurant serving British cuisine. Run by two Essex-born brothers, Galvin Green Man Howe Street has won more awards than we know how to count and, on Main Road as you head out from Chelmsford, is set amidst Essex countryside with the beautiful River Chelmer running right through the beer garden. There are menus fit for whoever you are and whatever your occasion might be – a restaurant menu, a pub menu, garden, Sunday, vegetarian or vegan menus and many more – with each one making use of only the finest local and seasonal ingredients. Our standout dish from the main restaurant menu? A tough one, but the smoked rump of Dingley Dell pork with hispi cabbage and mustard sauce is pretty hard to beat. Galvin Green Man is immensely popular so advanced reservations are essential.
