About Gandhi Restaurant - Billericay

Bringing the flavours of the Far East to Billericay, Gandhi Restaurant is an authentic curry house on Holy Court, with traditional decor decor and a cosy atmosphere. Serving up cuisine from all over the Indian subcontinent, the extensive menu boasts everything from fiery jalfrezis to creamy kormas, so no matter what your preferred level of spice is, you’re sure to find something to suit you. We recommend beginning with some juicy tandoori grilled meats, before moving on to the king prawn vindaloo, butter chicken or lamb korma. Vegetarians will find plenty of choices too, like the vegetable biryani, making Gandhi Restaurant the ideal place for a group meal. To guarantee a table at this Billericay hotspot, making a reservation in advance is recommended.

Hadn't been to Ghandi before but thought we'd give it a try having been disappointed with the food at the more salubrious curry houses in Billericay High Street. I booked online for a meal for four last Saturday and unlike another restaurant booked recently, the booking had been received and our table was waiting for us. While this isn't a curry house for those who have shiny new decor as a prerequisite, it was perfect from our perspective: staff are very friendly and attentive, food was really good, and we weren't rushed at any point. In fact we arrived at 8pm and left four hours later, though it didn't seem quite that long. We did wait quite a long time between popadoms and the mains coming along, maybe 45 mins, possibly an hour, but when the company is good, the drinks are flowing and the food is freshly prepared (the chicken was perfection, which is so often not the case when cooked in bulk earlier in the day) that's fine with me. Highly recommended if you place good and service above salubrious surroundings. Thanks for a great evening. Nearly forgot, prices are very reasonable too.

This was our first visit to Gandhi, the service was really friendly, food was delicious and reasonably priced, would definitely recommend and be visiting again.

Great food and service as usual and the perfect environment for catching up with friends. This is my regular curry house, good value and always welcoming.
