More about the restaurant: Ganesha Indian Cuisine

Ganesha in Bedminster is an Indian restaurant, but not a curry house. They set themselves apart from the standard formula of curries and tandooris, instead attempting to recreate the unique and authentic tastes of South India, with little compromise to British tastes. They’ve been on Bedminster Parade since 2008, and continue to grow and grow, so it seems that the hungry public of Bristol are embracing their styles of cooking, and are happy to experience something out of the ordinary.

Thinking about making a Ganesha Indian Cuisine booking?

Ganesha is an Indian restaurant that sets itself apart from the standard curry house tropes. Prasad Vanka and Mayur Renukdas are natives of southern India, and they have brought the styles of cooking prevalent in their native homelands to Bedminster Parade in Bristol. Their menu takes in thalis – the small plates of diverse curries typically served at lunchtime, and countless unique specialities of Kerala, Goa, Hyderabad and Pune, with a huge range of spices, cooking styles and ingredients.

The menu is notably different at Bedminster’s Ganesha to that of the standard curry house restaurant. Masala dosa, the rice and gram flour pancake filled with potato bhaji, is a breakfast favourite all over southern India, and at Ganesha, they make one of the best in Bristol. Their vegetarian options are also superb, reflecting the religious diversity of the region, and their seafood selection is also extensive, as the likes of Goa and Kerala have huge fishing industries. Head down to Bedminster for an authentic taste of India – but make sure you book a table in advance!
