Dear diners, Ganges & Ghurka offer 20% off for all students! One NUS Card allows four diners to benefit when dining in.
Featuring over 70 varieties of curry, it is not hard to imagine where curry-crazed Plymothians get their fix – at Ganges & Ghurka in Barbican of course. This gem on Bretonside gets its name from the famous nepalese warriors “the Ghurkas” and offers a variety of dishes influenced by the diversity in climate, altitude and soil of regions of both countries, which makes for a complete culinary trip from the himalayas down to Chennai. From classic indian curries to lesser-known nepalese specialities, you can let your tastebuds run wild at Ganges & Ghurka and with its fair prices, we’re sure you’ll be coming back for more.
Food was really nice, staff were attentive and it was very reasonably priced, all in all a good night out. Corkage was also only £2.
The Ganges and Ghurka is fabulous. A brilliant meal every time we go. What I particularly like, is the curry is not runny! I like sauce that you can dip your Naan bread into....but not runny! And that's what you get here.....and it is delicious. And lovely staff too. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
Excellent food and lots of it! Service was excellent and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I would highly recommend this restaurant for other large groups to visit
My 1st visit here but will definitely be returning! Absolutely Brilliant, Lovely ambience, excellent service, and superb food my new favourite curry house big thank you and happy new year to all the staff
Food was lovely, service was great. We really liked the fact we could bring our own wine too. When it says spicy on the menu, it really is quite hot so be careful :) Only little minus was table was little sticky and we would have liked bowl of hot water with lemon to clen our hands whenever through the meal; especially after popodums with chutney.
We loved the layout of the restaurant which managed to feel both spacious and intimate - a tough thing to achieve! We felt well looked after and the food was hot and tasty. One of our diners felt that their 'medium' hot dish was not spicy at all, but that was the only thing. Thank you for a great evening.
Lovely food.. Friendly staff..nicely spaced seating..if you like a medium curry , the medium was quite mild, the squid was cooked beautifully, and the peshwari forgive spelling...was the best I have ever tasted..a good experience.
We were a large party of 16 and the staff could not have been more efficient. The food was delicious and we were not kept waiting. Thank you for a really good evening.
I found this nice restaurant just behind Jurys Inn. Someof the features of this restaurant are: Excellent food Not oily at all Amaing taste Good choice of food Lovely staff
