Award-winning chef Miguel Barrera has brought over 20 years of high-level restaurant experience in Spain to Liverpool’s Wavertree with Gracias on Church Road. The refined cuisine suits a fine-dining tag, but the atmosphere here is warm and casual, with service just as excellent as the food. That’s pretty darn excellent – with foie gras, pistachio nut cream and caramelised apple, sweet peppers stuffed with morcilla de Burgos and slow-cooked lamb with mustard sauce and crunchy asparagus just a few highlights from an amazing tapas menu to go along with exceptional main meals, decadent Spanish desserts and a great wine list. Gracias is in the thick of the action around Penny Lane and it fills up quickly, so it’s wise to reserve a table well ahead of time to ensure you get to enjoy one of Liverpool’s finest Spanish dining experiences.
Lovely food - we ordered almost everything from the tapas menu! There's been an explosion of Spanish/Tapas style restaurants in Liverpool in the last few years, but Gracias and one other Spanish restaurant remain my favourites (have tried all the others - not worth a second visit!).
Food and service was excellent! Will definitely be going back - I would recommend to anyone who loves Spanish food! Booking online also couldn't have been easier.
The food was fantastic with some really nice authentic dishes. The staff and owner in particular are always so friendly and efficient. This place should be busier than it is as the food is a better standard than the Tapas next door. I would highly recommend this place if you are thinking of deciding between the two!!
