It’s hard to pigeonhole Edinburgh’s Grand Cru. Part restaurant with a distinct Italian bent, part cocktail lounge and bar, this stylish, atmospheric venue on Hanover Street on the New Town side of the city has peerless pedigree. Grand Cru oozes charm by night, and cheerful hospitality by day, starting with breakfast and rolling right through to lunch, dinner, DJs and drinks. Close to Princes and George Streets and the Royal Mile, Grand Cru is perfectly positioned as a restaurant to refuel after a day sightseeing or hitting the shops, and the perfect kickstarter bar before a night on the town. No matter the way you envisage your visit to this top Edinburgh F&B representative, be sure to book ahead.
This was our first visit originally recommended by a friend, we were certainly not disappointed with comfortable booth seating, friendly staff, good food and choice of drinks and cocktails, great venue to relax and catch up with friends, we were there for several hours so great to find a place where we were not rushed out the door after couple hours Which could happen in other restaurants... well done Grand Cru we will be back 🥂🍾🍽 😀
Nice, friendly staff. Good food.and cocktails. Good atmosphere too. Reasonable price on food and drink. Will definitely go back. Best to book as well as it does get busy.
excellent value for money and great service. We had the 5pm menu which was 2 courses which had a good range of starters and main courses. Pay extra for steak but it's worth it
We had a lovely meal. And staff were brilliant, Anna served us mostly and we couldn't thank her enough. We had a great night and will defiantly be returning
had a great time at Grand Cru, we reserved a table for drinks and the staff serving were very good, polite and swift. We will definately use Grand Cru again very soon, as we are always out socialising... Thanks for a great night. we will see you soon. Debbie Weatherston
I was at Grand Cru with 3 friends we had a lovely time. The atmosphere was great. The staff were so attentive especially when I asked for a gluten free menu. The food was amazing and plentiful. We ended up just staying there would definitely recommend you and come back.
The waitress was fantastic, food really good and drinks great. Overall a fab place to have lunch and a few drinks. Would definitely go back to Grand Cru as been twice now and both times a great time had plus prices are really good
Lovely food, very reasonably priced but didn't have our booking and it was fully booked, except some cancellation for table of 4 enabled us have a table thankfully. Otherwise a birthday celebration for 6 would have been deeply disappointed. Out of the six of us everyone loved their startes, mozzarella, mushrooms and pate, but for the mains the only complaint re the fish was too much batter. All in all a good time had.
We had the 2 courses for £7.95, the portions were generous and the food delicious. The service was prompt and we were left to have a leisurely lunch which lasted 2 hours +. Oh, and the house red and white wine was very reasonably priced and quaff able , we'll definitely go back.
I've visited on 4 - occasions with work colleagues and family and friends and always found staff friendly helpful and attentive. Food is good and service is quick. Music can be a little load but asked to move table to a booth and we were accommodated without any complaints. We will be back
