Was intending having fish and chips as have heard they are the best but couldn’t resist the short rib. It was delicious but will have to go back for fish and chips as they looked amazing

Food, pub, atmosphere all lovely, just disappointed that they had run out of the burger option on the menu

It was nice meal but I wouldn't say exceptional. The atmosphere was ok but we were sat quite close to other diners, it was very private which we were looking for on a night out without children.

The food was very good, however, the table next to ours which seated 6,aged about 20 young adults was so rowdy, that we asked to be moved. No one asked them to stop shouting the noise quite ruined our special dinner. We aren't sure whether we will be back.

We had our table booked for 1pm and we’re running a little late so I phoned to apologise. Not a problem at all and the comedy, warm welcome was theeeee best!

Not the first time we have been to the Gray Ox and it definitely won't be the last. We have always found it to be a happy experience.

We have always had a great time here but this visit was very disappointing. The food was excellent as always and initially service was good although a little slow, there were loads of waitresses around during our starter and main but they all seemed to disappear before dessert, I ordered a glass of wine which never came, our dessert was delivered by a gentleman (landlord maybe) and then no one was around for about half an hour 5 - 5.30 ish, we had to ask the bartender to get the bill ready for us as no one came back once we finished dessert. The table configuration meant we had to squeeze past a table of 4 people between two men and the bar, and I meant squeeze passed pressed against the bar, appreciate social distancing etc means you need to space tables but this actually forced us too close to the seated guests.

We booked a table online and came for an afternoon drink on Sunday with our pup. The service was great, the staff are really friendly and chatty. We ordered some chips from the sides to go with our Moretti shandies - went down a treat. Blissful afternoon spent in the beer garden of the Grey Ox.

The food was lovely but there were several dining tables, that appeared comfortable with canopy and heater and we were on a wooden picnic table no canopy and no heater. Would be nice to know what you are booking when all said and done we were all paying the same price. At least you would be prepared

Amazing staff, having realised that my wife was feeling the cool breeze from the open garden door, reseated us in a much better and warmer table. The meal was fabulous, really enough for two, and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for!! Loved it, go.

1st time back in a restaurant following easing of restrictions. Great to be back, staff warm and welcoming and very attentive. Everyone adhering to restrictions, which hopefully will be eliminated in the not too distant future. Will be back again soon!
