Attractive comfortable seating . Very cold ..(November) near door we should have moved. Self service pay at bar. No one to meet and greet or take order. Lunch menu was limited..lots bread items .'no Chef needed' items but we were able to order from classic menu also.Limited for vegetarians. No daily specials. Bar staff very helpful and friendly. Soup was very tasty although small with doughy cold white bread . Fish Chips was good and plentiful. Pasta tasty. Didn't stay for coffee dessert as too cold. Possibly better in evenings.

Awful food. Had to send it back, and request a refund. It was salad, which should not really be that difficult ?!?

Food was good but the pub was so short of staff there were long queues to order food/drinks and then to pay. I felt sorry for the one girl trying to serve everyone

I had lamb shank, it came with only one vegetable, broccoli that was virtually raw and hard to cut. Wife had beef, again only one vegetable, cabbage, also tough and virtually raw, the sweet was obviously bought in and very average and the drinks were over priced, otherwise it was OK

Couldn't eat there as there was a water leak there. Time before someone died in there just as we were to go in. It is my destiny not to eat in the Griffin.

Went for late (3.30) Sunday lunch - very happy with everything, super hot plates, its good pub grub, reasonable prices, generous portion sizes (we had turkey roasts, lamb shank and slow cooked beef) everyone got a Yorkshire pud! The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming and husband says very good beer! We now live just down the road so pleased to have such a nice reliable pub on our doorstep.

Possibly too much potatoes mash & roast bit much. Menu was out of date but the meat Yorkshire pudding perfect. Prefer roasted vegetables. But won’t stop me returning as we love the place. My rhubarb pud was great

Usually pretty good. But, this time, in spite of asking twice that the veggies be well cooked, they were’nt. carrots were brick hard and broccoli stalk also solid. Meat wasn’t up to scratch either. New Chef 🤔

Loved the food/pub but there was nowhere to park! They have very limited parking at the pub itself and across the road the public car park was also completely full!

Family visit, we all had the delicious Sunday roast with extra yorkshires and gravy. Four of us had desserts which were very tasty, the rest were too full of the roast. The service was speedy too, highly recommend The Griffin.

Service and food just lacked the finishing touches. The pie came out without gravy and broccoli - we had to ask for it. Another dish was supposed to come with salad but chips were provided instead?! A desert came without the coulis and another was not as advertised and just thrown onto the plate. Saying that what was provided was tasty (for most of us). Perhaps it was an off night?

A lovely relaxed atmosphere, food was delicious (best vegetarian roast I have enjoyed in a long time) and the rest of the party enjoyed their traditional roast very much. The Griffin have got it just right - perfect! Thank you!

The food & staff were great. Only issue was the pitbull dog off the lead wandering round the tables.Assume he was the owners, but not ideal.
