Food was well presented & plentiful The dining areas were clean but quite noisy with several young children allowed to roam about so it us more suited to families.

The service from all staff was really good, the meal was lovely.

Another delicious meal for us both, before BookClub. I had a lighter meal this time, ciabatta with chicken, sweetcorn and Brie. Plenty of topping on the ciabatta, very tasty, with fresh salad and chunky chips. A great cappuccino, too, thank you.

Great log fire, and the room was nice and toasty. We were early, but still received a warm welcome and our table was ready. Absolutely delicious beef bourguignon, large portions and the roast potatoes have definitely improved. Crispy and tasty. Sadly we were too full for dessert, but my friend had a luxury hot chocolate. Wow, a pudding in itself! I also really enjoyed the fudge with my tea. So fortunate to have The Gupshill on our doorstep!

Arrived 1/2 hour earlier so that we could have a drink at the bar. Service was rubbish, waited ages to get served, people arriving after us got served before us. Had meal which was nice but average. Staff were miserable one guy behind the bar was heard effing and he offing on more than one occassion. We won’t be rushing back.

Our welcome wasn’t great - a grunt from a man covered in tattoos and I was referred to as “mate” - I’m not a snob but what is wrong with Sir/madam? Manners and courtesy cost nothing. We have been here many times and liked it but it didn’t create a good first impression. When I asked if we cd move table - reply was not “I’m very sorry sir but we’re very full today” - no: we got another grunt and told “no we can’t do that”. Service was good as usual but the food not so good today. The beef was quite fatty and potatoes were not roasted by deep fried. We will return but today wasn’t the best. All mitigated by our lovely waitress who is quite senior and helpful - unlike the guy on the bar, who needs gentle but firm training. T shirt and tattoos not a good look for a business, I’m afraid.

They cancelled it with no explanation. I took information they asked for and entered through the car park entrance. The carpets and atmosphere there was disgusting. No Christmas atmosphere at all. They told me to find another restaurant. I will never go there in future. Very disappointed in them.

Food was excellent, but the staff could have been more welcoming. When serving, there was never a smile. Hot food was put on a cold plate.

Service was quick and staff friendly. Food was fantastic, all 8 of us enjoyed every mouthful. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality of food provided.

The food and service was good but the whole restaurant was far too cold. It was freezing! So cold that we sat in our coats for some of the meal! We know we're not the only ones who thought so because everyone who came in made a comment about it and touched the radiators to see if they were on which they weren't. The fire wasnt lit in the bar area either which might have helped to warm the place a bit.

Very nice occasion but quite a cold room despite the lovely fire. Good food and initially quick service but became slower at desert due apparently to some staff not turning up ut this did not spoil the occassion. I left a tip as a compensate for those staff on duty that worked and served well.

We were travelling from the other side of Cheshire . After reading reviews we found Gupshill to be roughly half way so the family met for pre Christmas dinner. I rang the restaurant as an incident on the M5 delayed us they were very helpful and moved our table booking. Food very tasty and piping hot most of us had the roast turkey beautiful and not dry the cheese cake is to die for highly recommend

too many staff standing at bar talking and swearing after we were seated. we got asked 6 times if needed any sauce, too many doing the same job that is why we got asked so many times. we had to ask for more veg as only bought out 1 pot enough for 2 people and there was 4 of us. we all had desserts but while 2 of us still eating they came and cleared the table from the others that had finished which was rude. overall it was hectic and nobody seemed to know what to do.

The staff were working very hard for the number of people. The food was tasty and just the right quantity. We really enjoyed the meal. Buzzing atmosphere partly due to the excellent jazz band that were appearing for the first time

Another excellent lunch - recommend the pork / cheesecake (not on the same plate). Very good on-the-ball manager who was concerned at all times that all was well and deals with things fast. Food v good as ever. Strongly recommend. Great value too - nowhere cheaper (or more plentiful) in or near Tewkesbury.
