The staff were working very hard for the number of people. The food was tasty and just the right quantity. We really enjoyed the meal. Buzzing atmosphere partly due to the excellent jazz band that were appearing for the first time
Service excellence food great every thing good staff 10-10 we will come again
Food was lovely, service good but a smile might have helped.
Another excellent lunch - recommend the pork / cheesecake (not on the same plate). Very good on-the-ball manager who was concerned at all times that all was well and deals with things fast. Food v good as ever. Strongly recommend. Great value too - nowhere cheaper (or more plentiful) in or near Tewkesbury.
Very nice food and courteous staff, top marks all round
It was a busy lunchtime, some bits were cold, egg over done but overall pleased. Service was slow to start but did pick up
Great food, home cooked served on hot plates. Amazing live music, Sam Hayes was brilliant. Thanks for a great evening.
The food was good and the atmosphere was as well but it was very cold, the fire, which is a lovely feature should of been lit earlier not when we got there
Amazing ! Food and service was impeccable! I asked for a drink not on the menu and my Hugo spritz was made and it was absolutely fabulous. Quality service is hard to find but we found it here . We will be back !
Food was good quality and well presented. Comfortable seating but quite draughty. My artificial knee got very cold.
Very welcoming atmosphere, staff very friendly and excellent service. Food was first class, can thoroughly recommend the roast dinner of the day, which was delicious.
It was very cold in there, & our food wasn’t hot either, disappointing!
Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff. Meal not exceptional but very good
One of our favourite Sunday lunch places. The service is always excellent (we have never waited for food), plates are plentiful and staff always cheerful and attentive without being intrusive. Roasties and Yorkshires very good. Thank you, Gups.
Food was great and service was good we will be back
They weren’t busy so they shut the bar at 9.30 and almost kicked us out. We wanted coffee after the meal but was told they had turned the machine off so couldn’t do any
Been here a few Sundays this was best food could have been hotter and veg a bit less cooked but very good
Lovely food and great service !!!! Will visit again !!
Friendly professional service despite being busy. Lovely food & a good selection of drinks. Thank you
Excellent Service. Wonderful meal. Will be back again, next time we're in the area.
Brilliant food and friendly service - couldn’t fault it at all.
Food was amazing very good service and with a smile 😃
A lovely afternoon with great food, impeccable staff that went the extra mile. Great atmosphere and a perfect temperature.
1st anniversary meal, really nice night. The staff are as pleasant as you can ask for
Very good food and good portions, with very good service
Very quiet but it was a Monday lunchtime.. Food arrived quickly. Risotto with sea bass was very nice. Roast pork looked lean but was a bit tough and the roast potatoes were not soft in the middle. Delicious truffle served with the tea and coffee. Sitting areas are big but it was quite cool in there.
Food was delicious waiting staff very attentive. Food arrived very quickly.Very helpful with my husband’s mobility scooter. Look forward to going there again
Wonderful atmosphere and food! I met up with a friend for lunch, and it was both our first times being there. We had a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. I'll definitely be back.
An excellent Sunday lunch with the usual roasts and alternatives on the menu. Much enjoyed the leak and potato soup but did not have a pudding. Service was prompt although the restaurant was full.
Nice food and service. Dogs made welcome. Minor moan as cold plate meant my steak and peas were colder than ideal.
A warm welcome with excellent food and very good service.
Loved it, will definitely come again and recommend to others.
One of our favourite Sunday lunch venues. At £15.95 for a large roast, this beats much local competition and is plentiful and very good quality. It’s why we go back. Service very good and attentive and it’s easy to park. Welcoming place and the pipes music is mercifully quiet.
Food was ok. Service was a bit below par. Drinks came incorrect
We had a lovely meal - as always, the staff were great and the food was delicious!
Excellent as ever. Plentiful portions and helpful staff. Easy to use app too. Prompt service all round. We will return.
Appalling experience today. Seated in narrow, dark, echoey bar area and could barely read the menu or see our food. Conversation was impossible thanks to a woman who wanted to share her business very loudly with anyone in the vicinity! After about 10 minutes, we had to ask for our order to be taken. When the waitress arrived with our food, she asked if we wanted any sauces; we asked for apple sauce and assumed she’d return with that and our vegetables. She finally sauntered back with the sauce but no vegetables. I asked for the vegetables to be brought before my food got any colder, but there was no rush - she had time to chat to a colleague. Our meal was barely warm by the time the vegetables finally arrived. The food was okay, not very hot and the roast potatoes were not crispy. Once finished our table was cleared and we waited for someone to take our dessert and coffee order. No one seemed interested, so after 15 minutes we gave up and decided to leave. I paid at the bar, expressing on my disappointment. The barman asked “what’s the problem”, but made no other comment. I appreciate we booked for a late lunch and that staff may have been tired after a busy earlier service, but that is not an excuse for the poor service or general lack of interest in us. The final issue is the serious trip hazard in the entrance. It has been there for a long time and we have raised it with staff before. Anyone could get their foot caught in the torn carpet and fall head first through a glass window. This is a serious health and safety issue that doesn’t seem to be a priority for the management. Sadly, after more than 40 years of regular patronage, this will be our last visit.
Food excellent service excellent lovely atmosphere perfect evening thank you ! We will return x
Friendly efficient staff. Food tasty and good portion size. Nice overall atmosphere.
It was cold in the whole pub/restaurant so it was not as comfortable as it could have been I must say though it was good value for money
Lovely food and helpful staff Bit chilly for our elderly dads though
Absolutely delicious meals,as always! Sea bass salad niscoise, with sun dried tomatoes is definitely recommended. My husband had steak, which was cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere, lots of history, which prompted us to Google more about the age of The Gupshill, and the later Battle of Tewkesbury. A wonderful lunch, thank you!
We had a lovely meeting up with our Son from Wales. The Sunday roast was really delicious, as were all the accompaniments. I had pancakes with berries for desert also delicious.
Great service lovely food, very dog friendly 🥳 definitely recommend
A repeat visit. Warm welcome. Lovely staff. Food excellent, served on hot plates and plenty of it. Had a wonderful family Sunday lunch!
