Prompt service, but don't why they served the starter with the main (the restaurant wasn't busy, so it wasn't as though they needed the table). Only the 'a la carte' menu was offered. The main spaghetti course was tasty, but unable to taste the garlic in the 'garlic bread and cheese' starter. When the bill arrived, they had added 12.5% service (no mention of this on their website). Paid and left.

The food is really good and feels very homemade, nothing fancy nor gastro-whatever, just plain yummy italian homemade food. What else can you ask for?

We had prebooked dinner for 3 Days for a party of 40 persons. Day 1 Fish and chips - bad fish and very different sices of portions. Day 2 Penne Tre. Colori - the only thing we got was pasta and tomatosauce, where was the strips of chicken? Day 3 Suprema di pollo Farcita only chicken breast no parma ham or cheese that it was supposed to be filled with. Very hard to get in Contact with by phone. Can not recommend this restaurant for larger partys.

6 of us went Saturday evening and we found the staff very welcoming and friendly. The service was very efficient and the food very good. Everyone said they'd enjoyed it and would certainly go back

Authentic Italian cuisine. Great value. Service was friendly and attentive. Unpretentious and very comfortable If restaurant was close by then we would be there every week.

Generous sized plate of pasta for everyone which was well appreciated. Ordered the carbonara which I recommend to everyone who wants a creamy pasta. Easy to find location with lots of seating options inside. Helpful waiters.

Excellent food, excellent service, ICE COLD BEER on a hot summer day lovely, will be going back again. The lower floor private room is great, separate bar air conditioning and more super cold beer.

Food was mediocre. The veal was inedible. It took ages to arrive. The restaurant was almost empty. The place has seen better days. I would definitely not go back there.

Very welcoming despite the fact that some of the members of my party were late. Great service, including a late order for one member of my party who had been additionally delayed, delicious food. Reasonable prices. Great ambience.

Good food and very friendly staff. Convenient location, not far from Holborn station. We went early, pre theatre and it was obvious that a number of the customers were regulars.

The restaurant was really warm and friendly. Food was excellent. I took my daughter and grandson and the waitress was really lovely with him, making a fuss of him which he loved. Apparently my daughter and I ate in this restaurant some 20 years ago and she remembered it when we got inside, she said it looked the same. Then she had the chicken Kiev so ordered it again and it didn't disappoint.

Very pleasant staff and atmosphere. Food excellent - recommend the whitebait and the veal Milanese, washed down with a very nice bottle of Bardolino. Well worth a visit, we would certainly go again.

Very attentive service. Huge portions and excellent food. The restaurant did not have a record of the quandoo booking but it was not busy when we arrived so that was not a problem.

Nice typical Italian food. Easy accessibility by metro. Prices of food and wines not high. I reccomed this restaurant to those who like typical Italian food.

our table was originally booked for 11pm through your website but I rang direct to the restaurant a couple of days beforehand to change the time to 10.30pm, where the man seemed happy we were arriving earlier. on arrival we were greated and sat down, handed a menu and ordered drinks...........we felt quite rushed into ordering our food as if the waiting staff couldn't wait to get us fed and out as soon as possible....even though more people came in to eat after we had finished our meals. the food was pretty standard so would not visit again.

Booking through Quandoo was a simple and efficient service and the table was ready! Welcomed by staff, retaurant clean and tidy. Pleasant service, ordinary food.

Simple but excellent Italian food, wine and service at reasonable prices. While not overtly flashy, the menu is extensive and the food is good. Quieter during the week, but it is always reassuring to be in a restaurant surrounded S by Italian people.

First visited Il Fornello 25 years ago; a fussy 18 year old who didn't wanna eat anything - that changed and my love affair with Italian food began. Been back on many occasions over the years but, this was my first visit in over 15 years. Still serving wonderful food and, delighted to see that the dessert trolley was still there. Would definitely recommend

The staff were friendly and pleasant. The food was filling and tasty although the spicy sausage pizza could have been spicier. They were very keen to promote the dessert trolley, of which we did partake. There was no hurry to get us out. All in all a good meal in a pleasant environment. Would definitely recommend.

This was a family run business with excellent service set within a very relaxed atmosphere. The food was good with lovely flavours. We had the bottle of house red wine which was fine. Rustic, unpretentious and happy welcome. Would recommend if you are in the area.

The food was very poor, overcooked and tasteless. We've ordered some garlic bread with cheese and the cheese was not melted fully, pasta was overcooked and meat sauce was tasteless, pork chops were also overcooked. All in all wouldn't come back or recommend to others.

Quirky, a bit old fashioned in deco, but a nice atmosphere and good food. Service good too. 😀 I'll go again. Good value for money.

Excellent friendly service with good quality meals at a reasonable price. Our table had pasta, pizza and the lamb special and all enjoyed their meals. I'd go again if I was in the area.
