The restaurant had recently been refurbished, it looks very fresh and inviting, the service was friendly and the food was very tasty, also good value for money.
If you like a restaurant buzzing with atmosphere that serves great Italian food at a reasonable price, this is the place for you. I can also recommend their house red. Also at a great price per bottle.
This was my second lunch at Il Pescatore and the food and service was as good, friendly, efficient and of the same quality as the first visit, so I am happy to recommend and will definitely be back again.
This restaurant has been our family favourite for family gatherings for almost 20 years that I can remember! You can generally find something that won't break the bank or you can splash out> Last night was my 78th birthday bash, and the seven of us all had starters of the highest quality and main courses that were very diverse, from pizza and spag bol to halibut provencale! Everything put on the table was excellent in its category! Indeed, arguably the best pizzas in Southend come out of the Il Pescatore pizza oven! We will continue to use this family friendly excellent watering hole for the foreseeable future I guess! Top marks for the noise because it was really bustling with happy people - noisy but nice! Mine was not the only helium 'Happy Birthday'balloon there either!
Food and service was excellent. All 5 of us enjoyed our food and will definitely visit again. My only critic would be the garlic bread - what happened to the thin and crispy bread you use to do? It was so much better!
Great food and great service would recommend. They were very accommodating when there was traffic so we were a little late. We have been a few times and cannot fault it
On entry, the place has a 70's retro look and feel to it, and you kind of expect good solid family style cooked food ! That is what we got..and lots of it. Excellent in all respects, and well served with a smile. Make sure you don't east for a week because the portions are huge (not complaining) and of great quality. Huge menu which covers everything from fish to steak and all points in between. Great evening and thoroughly recommended !
Good food, atmosphere and friendly welcome from staff. Tables a bit too close together. Other than that small point - no complaints. Will definitely return next time we are in town.
The service was light touch which was perfect for us as we were catching up with old friends that we hadn't seen in some time. However when we did want to engage in more conversation with the staff they were only too happy to share their knowledge of the extensive menu and have a joke with us. Great service. The food was of a good quality and the wine was reasonably priced and a good complement to the meal. Proces across the board are middling, which was good considering the quality of the food. I would go back, and would recommend it to both couples and larger groups.
Good food, friendly service and atmosphere. Really enjoyable evening with work colleagues. The food was tasty and prepared to order. We will visit again when in the area.
Food very good and good value-four of us had the lunch menu which had a varied choice of dishes. Service very friendly. We shall return.
We picked a very busy Friday with Xmas parties in and loud. Staff were still attentive - but looked under pressure, perhaps not as friendly as described in other reviews. Food was very good but the main course came up before we'd really finished the starters - which wasn't ideal. Very good value.
Ambience and service fine but food overpriced. £9 for a small portion of ordinary veg for two was poor value. Some aspects were good: large tasty sea bass but it came swimming in a plate of thin broth, way too much liquid; wine reasonably priced.
Old fashioned Italian restaurant. Service was good by trained waiters but food was a bit overpriced. Very confused as to how it is so high on trip advisor but that website is not to be trusted.
Booked a table for 3 and thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal. The staff were very attentive and the food was fabulous. Would definitely reccomend this restaurant to others.
We had a lovely evening. From the time we arrived until the time we left - the staff were very friendly and very helpful. The food was lovely and very good value for money. My friends had never been there before and were very pleased that I had suggested Il Pescatore. Will definitely be going back!!
Highly recommended. Very friendly and welcoming service, food recommendations directly from the cooks. Food simply amazing fresh and rich in flavour. You can feel real Italian spirit of the place end enjoy romantic dinner inside of the restaurant.
Great little restaurant. Good selection of food. Seafood very good. Wine ok too. Service very friendly and accommodating. Next to the train station, great for travelling back to london.
It was so lovely there! The staff was very friendly and they came to get our drink orders right away with food following shortly after. They really looked after us. It's so charming inside as well so it's quite a hidden gem and a romantic little spot to get away from the crowd for an evening. The food was absolutely delicious as well which made it even better. I definitely will go again and recommend it highly.
Friendly, authentic Italian restaurant where you are guaranteed a warm welcome. This restaurant is loved by locals and visitors alike, consistently serving good quality food. Definitely one of our favourites for a relaxed night out with friends.
