Surely Cheltenham’s most elegant Indian eatery, Indian Brasserie is also one of its most delicious. Occupying a large, sophisticated space on Bath Road, Indian Brasserie has room for over a hundred diners and it’s excellent for special occasions and events, though even for a casual meal it will give any lover of Indian food plenty to write home about. The decor is chic, with contemporary design, wooden flooring and leather seating, and the food covers traditional Indian favourites, lesser known regional dishes and a few signature creations. Most other Indian eateries in Montpellier focus solely on North Indian cuisine, but at Indian Brasserie the subcontinent’s southern specialties are celebrated, from spicy kholee zalaloo to more mild erachi thoran. Replete with familiar favourites from the tandoor oven and Anglo-Indian biryani canon, with abundant seafood and vegetarian choices (the thenkapal vardhiniya is particularly special), the menu at Indian Brasserie is sure to satisfy.

Get a table before they're gone
The restaurant was very quiet and although they had music playing, there was no atmosphere. Our table was near the back and the area was badly lit and quite dark. The food was lovely but no-one came after we'd eaten to see if we wanted anything else (more drinks etc). The bill came but no mints or chocolates with it. We've been a couple of times now and think perhaps it's time for a change.
It was all very enjoyable, as usual. Highly recommend them.
