Situated on Chelwood Drive, just off of Street Lane, Ira B’s serves up classic Jewish food with a bonkers mood. With its exposed brick walls, mismatched furniture, nostalgic decor and top hat lampshades, this quirky restaurant is winning over the hearts of locals, frequently hailed as Leeds’ best-loved restaurant. From bowls of homemade chicken soup with lokshen and knaidlach to an array of sandwiches, Ira B’s menu is full of hearty, deli-style American Jewish cuisine. We recommend The Grobbler sandwich filled with salted beef, and other delicious fillings include chicken schnitzel, fried fish, hummus and roasted vegetables, or chopped liver just like how your nana used to make. Located over in Roundhay, Ira B’s attracts diners from all over the city. Don’t just believe the hype – book a table and find out what all of the fuss is about for yourself!
Excellent quality and delicious food, friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff. We preferred our visit today as it wasn’t as busy as usual so we could savour and embrace the experience.
Fantastic food. But I expected that from the website - what I didn’t expect was the reception, the staff to make such a fuss of my children (letting them choose the music, providing games, etc) I was prepared to pay more following the whole experience! Lovely atmosphere..
I'm so glad I visited as the whole experience was brilliant. You get great food and hospitality at Ira B's and I'll definitely be going back.
If you like fresh, quality food with amazing service this is the place for you we love Ira B's! Can't wait to return. It's a two hundred mile round trip but the salt beef is well worth it.
Had read great things about Ira B's and stumbled upon it whilst exploring the Street Lane area...needless to say we felt the need to call in for brunch. Great food and service! Thanks Ira B's, we will be back. 😉
We went to eat at Ira B's And loved the food; were also pleased With service friendly and good cheer Which made us feel so welcome here And to our taste so well they catered We had to take some home for later The only problem, one concedes Is we're in Sheffield; they're in Leeds!
Ira greeted us with a really warm welcome and as it was our first visit helped guide us to make the most delicious choices from the menu. This came served in an impressive platter. Atmosphere here is really really special and the food was just gorgeous. Would highly recommend to all.
Excellent quality food in a relaxed informal environment. The staff are chatty without being intrusive. Ira herself is bonkers in a lovely way. Four of us went for a quick snack and we're still there at closing time 4+ hours later soaking up the vibe.
Wonderful find!! Ira and team were very accommodating we were a party of 7 ... took 86 year old mum for Mothers Day. Jolly, buzzing atmosphere, welcoming staff and fab food. Mega salt hit but plenty of Prosecco to wash it down with!
Ira B injects her personality into every aspect of this wonderful quirky restaurant. The food is fabulous, the atmosphere terrific and the decor is entertaining. Great value as well. A must visit place to eat.
