About Kasturi - London

With several awards under their belt, Kasturi really know a thing or two when it comes to Indian cuisine, offering a superlative dining experience and even being ranked among the top 30 best restaurants in the UK by the British Curry Awards. With sleek and stylish decor, Kasturi in Woolwich provides the perfect backdrop to a special meal. The menu focuses on healthy Pakthoon cuisine from the north of India which is known for its rich flavours. Begin your meal with some crab masala or shammi kebab (spicy lamb cakes with coriander, mint and ginger) before moving on to a mouthwatering main. We recommend going for a chef speciality like the murgh shahjahani (stuffed chicken breast rolls with minced chicken, marinated and cooked in the tandoor oven and served in a thick, medium spicy sauce). A favourite among London’s curry connoisseurs, spaces at Kasturi in The Village are known to fill up fast – book ahead to avoid missing out!

I have been twice to Kasturi, I really enjoyed my visit first time and so booked for a second time with a group of friends on a Thursday evening. The impression was less good this time. The food was pretty average and some of it was not properly heated through. The waiter was over-zealous and kept reappearing to move us on/speed us up. This was irritating as we weren't able to relax and felt it was really unnecessary on a quiet evening with a largely empty restaurant.
