You’ll find no pre-mixed curry sauces at Kera Spice, that’s for sure. We’re pleased to report this newly-opened south Indian restaurant makes it straight onto the list of London eateries that can offer authentic flavours and great value for money. In the heart of Leytonstone and a stone’s throw away from Leytonstone underground, Kera Spice is unique in that many of its dishes are prepared using speciality coconut oil so not only are they far tastier, they’re also far healthier than your standard, run-of-the-mill curries. In line with tradition, then, try dosa, an extremely popular south Indian pancake made from rice batter, black lentils and served with sambar and coconut chutney. Or, if you’re feeling meaty, the tandoor platters with chicken, lamb or even salmon are all exceptional. Kera Spice – nicely located on High Road Leytonstone – although new, is already popular. Great food. One of our party is a vegan and they were happy to prepare food and drinks specially so it met her requirements. All very tasty and fresh. When a mild dish was ordered, the waiter came back and suggested other mild dishes which might be something different to try. The staff are charming, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Excellent fresh food. Preparation takes a little longer than most other India restaurants but products appear to be fresh and made especially for each. Unusually, this restaurant also offers "specials". This was the best Indian for we have had for many years.
Food was amazing and the staff we very attentive. They were happy to alter spice levels of the dishes to your taste which was great for my parents who can handle very little spice. Will definitely be back!
