With a name inspired by Rudyard Kipling, Kipling’s Restaurant in Halifax is much more than your average curry spot. Specialising in Kashmiri cuisine that’s seen them nab several awards, this is one Indian restaurant not to be missed. You’ll be treated to first-rate service and dishes brimming with spice and flavour, that’s honestly unrivalled. Keep an eye out for Kipling’s special biryani filled with lamb, chicken, king prawns and vegetables; chicken shashlik marinated with yoghurt, lemon and peppercorns then barbecued in the tandoor oven or, the ever-wonderful Bombay aloo cooked with ginger and garlic with a spicy kick to it. You’ll find Kipling’s Restaurant on Town Hall Street in the city centre. Reservations are essential.
