Delicious food, well priced wine plus good service made for a great evening. We will definitely return. Lovely
Very enjoyable meal in a good atmosphere. A lovely evening.
Excellent food. And service, time allowed between courses just right.Courteous staff .
Very nice meal with excellent service and will go again soon.
We battled our way through a blizzard to get to La Perle and were so glad we did. 🤗 It was to celebrate our daughter-in-laws birthday and what a treat! The menu is limited which makes choosing much easier and also guarantees freshly cooked and not pre cooked food. It was steak night and even then it was a difficult choice. We sampled rib eye, sirloin and chefs cut, all at 8 ozs and they were all mouthwatering. Couldn't manage it all (we did!) "doggy bags" are provided. For starters we had gravalax, salted cod balls ? and roast chicken soup (declared a meal in itself) whilst the younger generation managed a desert of chocolate fondant. Everything was declared out of this world. What a find and highly recommended. Thank you all staff, so natural, for giving us a memorable evening.
It was our 1st visit to La Perle, we had a Cocktail each & was disappointed they were so small. The Pan fried Sea Bass was delicious but very small portions. It needed a side plate of vegetables to boost it up.
Terrible welcome followed by poor service throughout. Quite noisy and cramped. Huge table of 13 dominating a very small space. Hard, uncomfortable chairs, no elegance. Crab tian starter great but two pieces of crab shell- oh Dear! No offer made to remove from the bill. Neighbouring table with a large hair in their starter obviously had the only refund of the evening. Lobster Thermidor had no grilled finish and lobster tails left uncut. At £45 they should be able to spell THERMIDOR Wine list atrocious - unusually poor for this day and age. Bottle of Prosecco at half price was part of the special with the lobster but not offered and no substitute available. No champagne available either. We went to this restaurant with great optimism after reading good reviews. Sadly, we cannot recommend this restaurant to your subscribers. BB
We went to the French night which will be held weekly. The food is hard to fault and the ambience is quite good. It is however let down badly by the difficulty in carrying out a meaningful conversation due to the fact it has high levels of very hard surfaces creating a shouty (echo) atmosphere. The more people in the restaurant, (max around 30 seats) the worse it gets. A recent survey showed that 27% of people who had a hearing deficiency did not return to a 'shouty' restaurant as it was too uncomfortable. Food for thought? (no pun intended!)
Fantastic evening tonight at La Perle. We were there for their french night and the food was outstanding, service excellent and value for money one of the best we’ve ever had. Highly recommended.
Super meal, service good, french evening 3 courses £30 inc. different wine with each course, what is not to like, Great, we will be back. Thanks to all at La Perle.
