The decor and layout of the restaurant is lovely. The food is very good and the service has been excellent in the past although this time we had to wait a long time for our main courses which I thought was odd since the restaurant was not full. It was very cold in the restaurant and one of our party had to put their coat on. We mentioned it but not sure anything was done and when we left we noticed through the window that someone actually had an electric heater next to them. There was a newborn baby screaming beside us and whilst I love children, this was not the place nor the time to allow babies to dominate the evening in my opinion. Overall experience was pretty average this time.

La Piazzetta is our local! Excellent food and service. We couldn’t ask for more from an Italian restaurant. Well worth a visit, you will go back many times.

We went early on New Year’s Eve having booked earlier that day. We were quickly shown to a table without being offered an alternative. Our order was taken promptly but we noticed the waiter was distracted and a little impatient. I didn’t like the way our wine was brought to the table already opened but it tasted great and most of the wines were reasonably priced. The cold roasted vegetables were disappointing but my wife’s mussels in a garlic, cream and shallot sauce were fresh and delicious. The star for me was the rack of lamb, succulent, mouth-wateringly flavoured and perfectly cooked. By now the later sittings had arrived and the slightly echoey space was transformed into a lively, warm and cheerful setting. So much so, we shared a splendid pistachio ice cream bomb with two glasses of the delicious sweet wine.

Busy, atmospheric. Lovely staff , delicious food! Will go again!

Our second visit in two weeks we will return. Food was outstanding.

We arrived when the restaurant were having a buffet dinner to celebrate their first birthday. The food was great and the atmosphere lovely considering it was Sunday evening! I would definitely visit the restaurant again!

Food was fine, but!! This was Friday night and there was no time pressure. Food arrived, and was cleared. We had to try to slow things so we could enjoy our meal... but, and this was much worse, around 20 people arrived with no reservation, were seated next to us and the proceeded to walk around, invade our space and be generally obnoxious. We asked the waitress to deal with it, she walked away, so we put a stop to it by saying something ourselves. In leaving we expressed our displeasure to the Manageress and her response was, “what can I do?”. The answer is of course, a lot, whatever you need to do. Unacceptable!!!

All good, as per usual. really no complaints. Hoping they get enough people wanting to book for Christmas. A plea for others to make a reservation. 😁🎅

The restaurant was very busy - great to see for a Thursday evening - but it was very noisy especially for one of our party who has hearing aids. The food was delish as always and the staff are a delight. Always a good evening. We will be back, of course!
