Excellent food! Fresh and of good quality. Service was also very good. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy my elderflower spritzer drink as was stightly too acidic for me but really enjoyed the rest of the lunch. Will definitely return soon.

Restaurant fab but we the restaurant didnt have us booked in. Good job I took the confirmation email with me as they werent going to let us in.

A really nice restaurant with friendly, helpful staff. The food is amazing. A very good selection for all tastes and requirements that is expertly cooked. The carbonara was the best i have ever had. Very competitive price wise too.

pleasant staff, good food, nice menu choice and all a a reasonable price. We chose from the set 2 or 3 course evening menu. The smoked haddock chowder was delicious so too the beef stroganoff. Friends had the pork belly starter which was good followed by a delicious créant lasagne.

The ambience and food were both excellent, although the service was a little slow. In fairness it was a busy post-Christmas lunch period and they were at about capacity when we arrived.

Second visit here. A beautiful restaurant with a conservatory that overlooks the Minster. Pleasant staff and speedy service. Food is scrumptious!!! This place is a haven of calm and beauty. Will be back!!

Great food, great staff. Definitely going back when I'm next in York. Though I think the Black Forest Gateaux could have done with more of that sauce stuff.

We had excellent service and lovely food. Just a small comment about the seating. We had to ask to move tables as the cream chairs are too low and eating would have been very difficult. As we were eating early and the restaurant was quiet this was no problem, but if it had been full obviouslyit would have been more difficult to give us a suitable tables. As I believe the cream chairs are new, perhaps cushions could be provided. We will definately return as we are always happy with our meals there.

We go once a year when in York for three days Christmas Get Away & shopping. It's been a great discovery, staff are friendly and fun. There's a great atmosphere and most importantly the food has always been excellent. Have been four/five times now and will definitely return. Merry Christened to all at La Vecchia!!

Great Italian food served in very pleasant surroundings by staff who are courteous, attentive and polite. We always enjoy Italian food making La Vecchia Scuola a must visit destination whenever we are in York.

Friendly staff and nice food, but slow service from the kitchen even though we were the first to arrive. We had to speak to staff twice to check on the progress of the food.

Food, surroundings and atmosphere all good. Friendly staff too. Not the cosiest of restaurants, but there are many other cosy places in York if that's what you're after.

Very nice and cosy place. Staff were all really attentive. There was plenty of choice on the menu and the dishes we ordered were all delicious. Highly recommended.

Lovely restaurant in a nice part of the City, great food with good choice, and service was excellent and even a piano player which was nice.
