L'Estuaire Bistro Bar

The setting is lovely. The menu is a little limited. On the night we went they seemed to be trying out 2 new front of house staff, that is 2 out of a total of 3 - this meant that the service was very poor, for example it was suggested we have bread and olives whilst we browsed the menu - good idea, however after a wait we were visited again for our menu choices with neither of the previous items having arrived, nor had out drinks. I would question the wisdom of trying out that high proportion of staff at once.

Always awesome, quality of service, quality of food is always amazing! Don’t go for a pub when you can get great food, a different menu and a team that care instead for the same price! Do what you do guys :)

We booked a Sunday lunchtime, the food was tasty, the staff were very welcomming, all at a great location on the quay. Look forward to trying the breakfast next!

Staff very attentive and knowledgable and the food was nicely presented, but I personally found the pork dish that I ordered too fussy and with too many dominant flavours.

Very comfortable restaurant, excellent friendly service, superb location, set menu food simple but well cooked. The restaurant offers seating outside as well as indoors, and on a fine day this is a delight.

The service, food and friendliness of the staff made it a great lunch. Oh and the great company of my wife. Thank you for a most enjoyable lunch.

This was our second visit our first was really good that's why we came again on Sunday with family who were over from Australia . The food was authorized .

Excellent service! Very welcoming and the food and drinks were fantastic! I’m not a big fan of white wine but the one we had was absolutely brilliant! We’ll definitely come again. :)

Awful experience sadly. olives were like rocks. seafood gratin wasn't cooked and the prawns were still grey. safe to say we cancelled our main courses and were shocked to still be presented with a bill after the debacle. only 1 very young inexperienced waiter was working on a busy Sat night, covering the entire restaurant. very disappointed in the overall experience, which effectively ruined our eve as it was then too late to get a table or dinner elsewhere.

We really enjoyed our visit. I had asked for quiet table which we got. Would definitely return. Good value for money and attentive and helpful staff.

We originally tried to book onllne for the Tuesday, but the site showed it was full, so opted for Thursday. The waiter was surprised that the site showed full as they were not. Checked whilst we were there and it showed full for lunchtime that day, (there were only 5 customers)! Recommend ringing the Bistro direct. Lovely warm welcome, quickly seated and provided with water and a drink. We ordered from the set menu. Unfortunately my minute steak was really tough and full of sinew. I barely managed to swallow half of it. The waiter was apologetic and went to tell the chef. We were given my bottle of cider for free, but it didn't make up for still being hungry and disappointed. Lovely lemon meringue cheesecake.

Nice location near the quay in Topsham and we went there at luntime. It was an interesting menu,such as showing frogs legs as an option. Nice choices on the main menu and our party of six all had different dishes which they enjoyed. I had the special which was bream and it was very good. The catch of the day was also good, as was the pork belly and the lamb.The children enjoyed their meals too. Prices were ‘middle of the range’ but Topsham generally seems to be slightly more expensive. The staff were pleasant and the service was good. We will go again for a meal and often call in for coffee or some nice ice cream. We go there by train but there is car parking on the quay (if you are lucky):

Lovely venue and nice welcome from staff. We went for the two course lunch menu. Although limited choices each course was well presented and very tasty. I would have preferred a few green beans than the salad with my fish as I'm not keen on mixing hot and cold. Good friendly service. Overall a very good experience and good value.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and some dishes were good but overall it didn't come up to our expectations and found the experience rather disappointing.

In my opinion one of the best restaurants in Topsham. Great food, staff & ambience. Perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. Good range of drinks and open late.

I met with 3 friends from work, and we had such a lovely evening. We had the set 3 course menu, and each of us thoroughly enjoyed each of the courses. I had the corn fritters, an unusual vegetarian option, and absolutely delicious. We all opted to have the 'catch of the day' and loved it. All food is beautifully presented and the restaurant has a lovely ambience. 2 of us also indulged the cocktails, and could not believe the amount of choice: all fruity and fresh and potent! We all said we would return again, in fact I will be back this Thursday.

Quiet night and attention/service reflected that, but it's usually pretty attentive. Took two other couples who hadn't been there before and general feedback was excellent.

Service excellent and the cocktails are delicious and well worth the 2 for 1 offer. The set menu was very good value and tasty but the minute steak was tough - offered to change it but we had eaten too much by then - good flavour. Estuaire is very good Bistro Reataurant and worth a visit. Recommended.

Food was good, wine was excellent. Lost a mark for the wine not being opened or a tasting offered, plus cutlery was not laid out correctly

we had a lovely evening for our wedding anniversary. the food was excellent the service was very good, attentive but not intrusive. overall a very pleasant experience.

Again another great night out. We went for the set menu with a nice French Chardonnay. Service was spot on and the atmosphere was great.

Relaxing atmosphere and nice freshly prepared dishes. Great selections of wines too. It's always nice to come back. Great and speedy service. Parking is easy too.

Very nice evening. Steaks and fish were delicious and well-presented. Desserts were different and tasty....minor criticism - not enough wobble and smoothness in my pannacotta! Service was friendly and efficient. Ambience relaxed and modern. Prices good. All in all a very good experience enjoyed by our party of 6.

The choice of food was varied. The dishes chosen were all well presented and delicious The atmosphere was humming and very friendly. Finally the staff were very friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this place which is situated in a lovely area. Go on give it a try !

Third visit, previous two visits were good, third time unlucky! Very mediocre overpriced food, what is it with restaurants? why are they never never consistent? was it a stand in Chef? I despair and will not be returning again.

It was ok. For the money you would expect an awful lot more. Not busy despite its location says a lot. Trying to be simple but simple needs a bit more quality

Again another great night out. The food was spot on and we enjoyed the risotto and seafood gratin with various side dishes. The cocktails were fantastic and the French Chardonnay complemented the food. Hope to be back soon.

Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. We had the pan fried haddock with all the trimmings, followed by a mouth-wateringly delicious orange, fig and Cointreau cheesecake. I would not hesitate to recommend this Bistro to others.

The food was delicious and we had gone at 6 o'clock to take advantage of the set menu so it was a very reasonable price even with wine. The service was friendly and attentive and the restaurant was attractive and comfortable. We will definitely go again.

Food and environment were lovely, but we waited nearly an hour for food. Not sure why, as it didn't appear to be hugely busy .

The restaurant was very welcoming with an a la carte and set menu. The latter was excellent value. The food was cooked to order which meant a wait between courses. The food was beautifully presented. The server was very personable and checked to see we were happy and the food to our liking. On a sunny day it would have been even better! We will definitely return.

First visit but definitely will not be our last. Food and service excellent. Good value for money and varied menu to cater for all tatstes
