Mandarin Restaurant

The manager was friendly and the food is great, but the young staff had not had much knowledge either about wine or the food. We had to wait for the main course too long . But overall it was a good experience

We visited the Mandarin restaurant yesterday evening.We changed our table to one with more light.That was no problem to the Staff who were all charming and unobtrusive.The menu was extensive so we opted for the set menu for 4 people.It was very well presented,well served and delicious.The restaurant itself appears to be the "Jewel in the Crown" in Northwood Hills.I can thoroughly reccomend it.Parking can be a bit tricky but that is not the fault of the management.All in all a lovely evening.

Beautiful restaurant fresh new interior ,friendly Staff, excellent food , good decent portions , this is my best chinese restaurant in town. must try .

I’ve recently had two takeaways and a meal in the restaurant and it’s all been lovely. Very polite staff unlike when it was under previous ownership. If you stopped going like I did a few years ago because the food went downhill, go back and give it a try. It’s back as good as it once was.

The food is great, but the service needs a helping hand. The staff are very courteous but they take long time to enter and process orders.

Great food! We had a few issues with wait staff when they first opened and gave it another go tonight and had a lovely experience. Our waitress was hard working and attentive and the owner is lovely. All businesses have teething problems but keep going, you’re doing great!

Chinese restaurant run by non Chinese people. Heating broken which we were not told about until we'd been seated and had gotten cold. We ordered vegetarian mixed starters which were very nice. Followed by crabmeat and sweet corn soup which was ok, could have done with soy sauce but was no where to be seen. The engineer was working on the heating which sadly blasted out chemical fumes which left us with sinus migraine. We decided we'd had enough so asked for bill, which was not available to see as on a tablet. They had to write out a receipt so we could see breakdown of cost. Upon which we were told along with an enthusiastic apology for the cold that they would give us the service charge discount (which I thought was optional anyhow). Would not go back. It's under new management.

After a major refurb and under new ownership, we thought we'd try Mandarin again to see if the old standards had been maintained. Nothing to worry about. The food was (still) delicious and the service excellent. A great, good value night out. Thanks.

Good atmosphere, but food wasn’t very good. The refurnishment is very nice, and staff are brilliant, food very lacking however. Would try again, but after soon time.

Very nice food especially the dumplings andd the service was very good. I went here for my birthday with a group of 5. REALLY pleased I picked this place.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was really yummy, the roast duck was very crispy. I would definitely recommend to my friends.

Very disappointed with desert which was banana fritters not crispy very soggy like they had been reheated. Rest of meal or service was very good

Even though we live quite close by never really tried this restaurant before. We were pleasantly surprised. Our boys were very happy with their meal.

We had great service from thefriendly staff. Absolutly delisious food and choice served in a beautiful restaurant. And the parking was so easy. A great evening.

Excellent food and service! One of the best Chinese restaurants that we have visited. Clean, well staffed, speedy service and good sized portions, if you haven't tried it please do!

Great food, great atmosphere, service was good up until a large group entered the restaurant after which we were near enough forgotten about. Overall would recommend.

I took my family for the Sunday buffet. Great selection, food is of high quality and the staff were very attentive. You can eat as much as you like and it was not an issue when we ordered more starters (which were delicious). Will be returning soon!

Excellent Sunday eat as much as you like menu. Great selection. Pity there is bow no soup section but good friendly atmosphere. Will definately go again

Good service friendly staff food was ok it just seemed that everything was sweet. Maybe it was our choices. But overall a pleasant evening. I would go back.

Cannot fault the service but the food wasn't all that. Went to celebrate my partners birthday. Chicken undercooked in satay starter and mains tasted chemically.

Mysterious charge of over £70 for 3 rounds of double whisky?? we werent allowed to do a doggypack of what was left on the table. service wasnt friendly once the main waitress finihse dher shift. like some explanantion for the drinks bill please ? its local, if the service isnt good then people wont bother. very dissapointed as i couldnt query the bills infront of the guests as we were gathered for special occasion.

The service and food were excellent. Waiters were very helpful and attentive. We were the last customers to leave but did not feel as if there was pressure on us to go.Would highly recommend

As usual the food was heat and the service first class. The mixed starter was excellent and the steamed rice, king prawns and chicken with asparagus was the usual high standard. Banana fritters with ice cream rounded off the meal. The Pinot Grigio was reasonably priced and the total with 10 per cent tip was £60 for two.

We had very good service and the food was excellent. We were all vegetarians and we got extremely good dishes. We had toddler 16 months she was given comfortable high chair and small size cutlery for her too. I Recomened this restaurant to all my friends.

Really nice food! Nice location but parking was a headache on a friday night. There were 3 adults and 7 young kids who had a fab time. Service was excellent and to be honest a real surprise for me as i have passed this place many times and never thought of going in. But will definitely go back again! Value for money also!

We enjoyed an All you can Eat family meal. The food was tasty, the portions generous. The staff were very pleasant and attentive and could explain what ingredients were included in which dish. It was quite busy yesterday, we've never had a problem reserving a table.

Three of us visiting the Mandarin Restaurant, we have been there before, but now having moved not been for ages. We were pleasantly surprised, the food was still as good as it was before. Very attentive waiter and waitress. We will certainly return when we are back in the area. Certainly the best Chinese Restaurant far and near.

Very good menu with plenty of vegetarian options. Food tasted great and portion sizes are good. Excellent service and atmosphere will definitely go back again.

Nice food with good service........it does not need to be anything more complicated! They also do takeaway, will be my new Chinese restaurant of choice!

Really enjoyed the food, nice family friendly restaurant. Staff very friendly and just generally a really nice atmosphere inside the restaurant. My son loved the dumplings and banana fritters were yum!

Excellent service and superb food served hot very good value for money local to where we live have used this restaurant many times- the buffet on Sunday is the best I've used

We went for the Sunday banquet. Really good food but not as good as it used to be. Overpriced charging of drinks, particularly when they charge £3.60 for a glass of coke that comes out of a 2 litre bottle!

Small portions, Our Waitress was forgetful and had to ask twice for things. Food was nice but not amazing - we had prawn toast, pork dumpling, 1/4 duck (gave us hardly any salad for the pancake so had to ask for more then waitress forgot), sizzling chicken in blackbean, crispy shredded beef and veg chow mein

Friendly staff .food was good.The starters were very good but the main needs to be improved .The service for food was quick.so the customers did not have to wait long
