Manjal Indian Restaurant - Marsh Wall

I visited Manjal restaurant on Friday evening, and unfortunately the food was quite disappointing. It tasted as though it was cooked by someone inexperienced — perhaps a part-time chef who is still learning. The portion sizes were also extremely small, almost like tasting samples rather than proper servings. That said, the staff were friendly, attentive, and provided good service throughout the visit. The location itself is beautiful and has a lot of potential. If they can improve the quality and quantity of the food, Manjal could easily become one of the best South Indian dining spots.

Location had a great view of the wharf and seating / acoustics made it easy to have a dinner conversation. Food was great but discuss the spice content with the wait staff. Several gluten free options.

Lovely food, very helpful staff and most importantly we didn’t feel under pressure to leave at the end of our meal. This is my 4th time eating at Manjal when in London and would thoroughly recommend this restaurant

The team was rude, and despite the restaurant being empty, they claimed it was full and refused to acknowledge our booking. in the end tried to give random table and when requested multiple time then gave a better table.

I left because the atmosphere was dead. I recommend elsewhere

We visited the Manjal Indian restaurant on Saturday 30th March 2024. Service was excellent, I ordered Buhna curry and Mushroom rice. I found the rice very spicy hot and the Buhna was a little bit disappointing as it had hardly any sauce, it tasted very nice, the rice looked amazing but far to hot 🥵 we were offered some Chocolate to cool it down, which did work. Otherwise the food was good but different. 121/2 % service charge was a little steep. I know that’s what you pay in London but it makes it an expensive meal

This isn't my first time dining at Manjal, and it won't be the last. The service is always exceptional and the food speaks for itself. Packed full of flavour with good portion sizes. I highly recommended the dosa and the chicken shasklik. The setting is also lovely, a peaceful oasis in a typically bustling Canary Wharf. Some great views over the wharf add to the ambience.

It was a overall a very nice experience.. Owner was there all the time inquiring about the quality of food and recommendations.. Food taste was authentic South Indian.. Value for money too.. Decent ambience and background soft musical of old Hindi songs.. A perfect place for me n my friend to dine in.. Will definitely recommend for food, The atmosphere and for a great experience
